If you’ve ever wanted a continuous 20% off sale on all your Stampin’ Up! faves – then THIS is the time to get that going! And – you’ll be JUST in time to double-dip with the Bundle & Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine 10% Off Sale on 5 Jun. Winner winner! Check right here for all the deets!
My card today is a result of me realizing that my supply of sympathy cards is…sadly lacking. No one WANTS to need them but…need them we do! So, I pulled out the Fields in Bloom set and the Hope You Know set to remedy that. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge this week!
I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram. You can see it on YouTube right here!
I started by embossing a Crumb Cake panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and then adhering it to the front of a Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue.
On a Crumb Cake panel – I stamped the flower stems/leaves image from the Fields in Bloom set in Mossy Meadow ink. Then I added the fill (the flowers themselves) in Crushed Curry. This is a SUPER fun two-step image – very easy to line up!
Using the next-to-largest Deckled Rectangle die, I cut out a rectangle – with the stamped images towards the bottom of the die cut.
I stamped clouds from Fields in Bloom across the top portion of the die cut in Pool Party Ink. Then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut out a banner from the Country Woods DSP using the long, narrow Stylish Shapes banner die. Using my Paper Snips – I cut the banner in half and adhered each half to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I tied a simple bow from two lengths of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
While the glue set up, I stamped a Hope You Know sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die.
I adhered the sentiment over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a few – okay….FIVE!….Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Hope You Know sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Crumb Cake panel. At the bottom, I added the Fields in Bloom image in Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry. Then I added a few Pool Party clouds. And some more Brushed Brass Butterflies. Cuz I could! 😉
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got a Mossy Meadow stem and Crushed Curry flowers from Fields in Bloom on the front…
…and more of the Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love how QUIET the pretty flowers and clouds from the Field of Blooms set get when they’re stamped on Crumb Cake, don’t you!? I think it makes them a perfect accompaniment to the Hope You Know sentiments that perfectly get the point of the card across to your recipient!
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card! The muted colors on the Crumb Cake background are perfect for a sympathy card. And why would he put all of those toys back?? He just spent all of that time throwing them all over the floor! 🙂
Yes – would be dumb to ruin all his WORK!! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
WHen my youngest was 3, (she just turned 50) she loved playing with Tinker Toys. She laid every piece in the box around the living room floor and called it her studio. Before supper I told her it was time to put everything away. Her answer? ‘WHY? I’m going to play in my studio tomorrow.’
Guess what? I didn’t make her put it all away. Finn made me remember that. And, to this day, I have no idea where that 3 year old ever heard about a studio.
Beautiful card, and so perfect for a sympathy message.
Oh – that’s such a good story! I love that she had a studio!! And that you LET her have a studio! Thank you so much, Julie! 🙂
Lovely card, Mary!
Finn may need one of those toys in a minute… Just saying! 🙂
Yep – always got to have it close at paw!
