Good morning and happy Friday! Hope you’ve got something fun planned for the weekend!
My card today is…out of this world. Well – sort of! It’s a fun ocean sunset brought to you by the new Under The Moon stamp set! And – since that’s an image-only set, I pulled out the Country Flowers for two sweet sentiments. These are both from the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog – going live on 1 May! The “out of this world” thing comes from the Stargazing DSP – which is RETIRING soon (and on sale!). OH – and it’s ALSO a fun fold! Take a look-see:
You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards – at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge! We’re all about the Fun Folds and I hope you’ll come and join us!
And – I was inspired by The Paper Players theme challenge this week!
So – this is really just a Joy Fold card – turned on end to be in portrait orientation. Easy!
I started with some new Pretty in Pink cardstock, 4″ x 8 1/2″ – that I scored at 5 1/4″. The smaller card is 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – scored and folded at 4 1/4″
I adhered two pieces of the retiring-soon Stargazing DSP (y’all – this is such cool paper – AND it’s on SALE right now for just $7.50! Are you kidding?!)…
(Psst – don’t forget to grab the Reach for the Stars Bundle – it’s going to let you cut out some of those fun planets right from the DSP!)
With that done, I pulled out the new Under The Moon stamp set and started stamping!
Using the water image, I inked it in Misty Moonlight ink and then used a Sponge Dauber to daub-daub-daub all over the stamp – then I stamped it at the bottom of a small Basic White panel.
I inked the sun image with Daffodil Delight ink and then added Calypso Coral around the bottom with a Sponge Dauber. I stamped it just above the “horizon”. You can see from the photo that I also used a dauber to add some Daffodil Delight in the water – like a reflection of the sunset!
I stamped some Fresh Freesia Under The Moon clouds – isn’t that the best cloud image?!? – and one sweet and sassy Dolphin in Misty Moonlight.
Then I used a mostly-dry Small Blending Brush to add Misty Moonlight around the “sky”.
Being an image-only set, I needed some sentiment help so…I turned to the new Country Flowers stamp set! I stamped one sentiment in Misty Moonlight ‘in” the water!
Then I adhered the panel to the front of my small Pretty in Pink card base using Liquid Glue.
For the inside, I stamped the water again in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel.
Instead of the sun, I added the cool full moon image in Smoky Slate.
I stamped a second sentiment from Country Flowers in Misty Moonlight and added another Misty Moonlight dolphin (Favorite. Image. Ever!).
I adhered the panel to the inside of the small Pretty in Pink card base.
Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered the little card base to the center of the back panel of the larger card. Tip: don’t get wrapped up in the bottom flap – just adhere the little card smack in the middle of the back panel and it’ll all work out. It’s science! 😉
For the back – since there’s not a lot of room to write in the little card, I stamped a few Fresh Freesia Under The Moon clouds on a Basic White panel. I used that Small Blending Brush again to add some color to the rest of the panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pretty in Pink mat and onto the back of the Night of Navy card base, adhered the joy fold to the other side with Liquid Glue – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got three dancing dolphins from Under The Moon. in Misty Moonlight – and some Misty Moonlight blending – on the front…
…and more of the Stargazing DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Joy Fold cards are the ultimate easy-but-looks-so-cool fun fold cards! Only YOU need to know how easy it is (don’t share that!). The new Under The Moon set has all the fun images you need to make ocean scenes – and that dolphin. Is. Perfect!! You’ll need some sentiments, though, and the Country Flowers set is a perfect choice – I love the sentiments AND the fonts they used! So darned pretty! Finally – this is your last chance to pick up some Stargazing DSP – AND you can get it at SUCH a great price. I mean – really. Twelve beautiful sheets for just $7.50!! Getcha some while it lasts!
I hope you like!
