Stampin’ Up! Sentimental Park Cards & Folio Gift Set with Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Second Christmas was a hit – we all had a great dinner and a great time with friends!  The kids enjoyed their gifts and we liked ours from them, for sure!  Have I ever mentioned how much I love those boys and their wives (and THEIR kids, too – there’s just one tiny human right now, but…I’m sure there will be more in the future!).  Speaking of…Jules was so stinkin’ cute in her Christmas outfit! 🙂

The card I made today is actually a TWO parter!  It’s got three A2-sized cards with envelopes – and an easy-to-assemble-and-decorate “folio” – making it a perfect gift for a birthday, Mother’s Day or….that Belly Laugh Day that’s coming up!  I used the cool new Sentimental Park bundle and some so-so-pretty Dandy Designs DSP!  Take a look-see:

This one seems like a great birthday present – which is surely a reason for a party! – so the Global Design Project Theme challenge is perfect!

When you open the folio – which has a tiny hook-and-loop closure – you see three pretty cards tucked inside!

And they’re decorated like the front of the folio – with a nice multi-occasion sentiment.  Birthday cards, retirement cards, life-event cards!  Yep – they’ll work for ALL the things!

A friend sent a link to Annes Paper Creations and I took her measurements and modified them to be able to make this folio to hold multiple cards!

I started with a 8 1/4″ x 11 1/2″ piece of Dandy Designs DSP (this is FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a qualifying $100+ order!) that I scored as shown.  Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored across the short side at 1/2″, 1″, 7 1/4″ and 7 3/4″.  Then I rotated the paper 90 degrees and scored along the long side at 3″, 3 1/2″, 8″ and 8 1/2″.

Then, using Paper Snips I cut away the areas that I didn’t need.

I folded all the remaining score lines in the same direction – AWAY from the side of the DSP that I wanted showing on the outside.

I used two of the Basic Borders Dies to cut the top and bottom flaps – just cuz it made it so pretty! Note: the entire piece of DSP will not fit thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine – it’s too wide! So…just roll the flap, with the die in place, thru and then reverse it back out. 🙂

I put Tear & Tape Adhesive on the bottom flap and then used it to secure the flap up to the body of the folio.

I added a tiny (3/8″ circles) clear hook-and-loop closures (I got them from Amazon – super cheap and super handy!) to the inside of the top flap.

Then I decorated the front of the folio.  I cut a Petal Pink floral label using the Sentimental Park dies – and a Basic White plain die.  I stamped two of the Sentimental Park sentiments in Calypso Coral and Mango Melody inks and tucked the label inside the handy slots in the flower-dy die cut.

I used the flower dies in the Sentimental Park die set to cut a bevy of flowers in Calypso Coral, Mango Melody and Basic White cardstocks!

Using Liquid Glue, I mixed and matched the flowers and adhered them to the sentiment.  There’s seriously no wrong way to do this, thanks to all the sweet flower choices you’ll get in the die set!

I added an Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel to the middle of the flowers – popped the sentiment onto the front flap of the folio with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and it was ready for cards!

The matching cards are too easy!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of the Dandy Designs DSP to a Mango Melody mat to make the card fronts.

Once again, I cut out the Sentimental Park label dies in Petal Pink and Basic White.

For the cards, I only used the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment – figured that would be very wide open!  If you’re making these cards for yourself – you could add any of the phrases in the set underneath!

I cut out and added my flowers using Liquid Glue and then finished each one with an Iridescent Basic Pearl.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped the outline flowers image from Sentimental Park in Calypso Coral on the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Then I added the second-step fill image in Mango Melody.  Note: these are super easy to line up, but, like with most two-step images…it IS helpful to stamp your DARKER color first! 😎

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Basic White cardbase, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sentimental Park flowers on the front…

…and more of the Dandy Designs DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – I love this for a gift for someone, don’t you?  This box/envelope is perfect for big thick cards – but it ALSO makes for an amazing card-holding folio!  And the Dandy Designs DSP is a great pack to use – you get FOUR of each of the 12″ x 12″ designs – plenty to make your folio – or two! – and lots of coordinating cards!  The Sentimental Park bundle is a sweet complement – the way those two label die cuts fit together just makes my heart happy!

Now – for those of you who are looking to customize your folios – maybe add more cards? – here’s a template with the math (don’t be scared!).
