Stampin’ Up! Decorated with Happiness, Timber & Pines Christmas Card

Good morning!  It’s Monday and back to work!!  And – isn’t this Cyber Monday or some such?!?  Talk about gilding a sow’s ear!  Nothing REALLY makes Monday all that great – not even the prospect of a sale, am I right?!?  Even as a retiree – Monday isn’t my fave. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My card today is a super easy one – featuring one of my fave bundles in the Jul – Dec 2022 Mini Catalog – the Decorated with Happiness Bundle!  Sadly – it’s NOT on the carryover list which means…its time with us is limited! 🙁 I have to have faith that Stampin’ Up! will bring us a pine bough die cut as wunnermus as THIS one is in a future holiday catalog! 🤞🤞🤞  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Decorated with Happiness, Timber & Pines Christmas Card

This uncharacteristically (for me!) clean-and-simple card was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge!

This is quick and easy so…buckle up!

I started by embossing a Crumb Cake cardstock panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

Then I used that wunnermus die from the Decorated Pine die set to cut an Evening Evergreen bough – which I adhered in the corner of the panel with a little Liquid Glue.  I used Paper Snips to trim the excess that I let spill off the edge.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat to make the card front.

Using the Decorated Pine set again, I cut a Soft Succulent bow – and a Brushed Metallic Cardstock ornament.

I adhered the ornament – and then the bow – with little dabs of Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment – I stamped the Decorated with Happiness sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a piece of Crumb Cake.  Then – using the small-ish rectangle die in the Welcome Home die set…

…I cut out the sentiment.

Using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment onto the card front.

To finish off, I added some coppery Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots – so pretty!!  And – the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Decorated with Happiness in Evening Evergreen on a Crumb Cake panel.  Over the top, I stamped the small pine bough from the set twice in stamped-off-once Evening Evergreen.  Then I added another coppery Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dot!

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the single Decorated with Happiness pine bough stamped a couple times in full-strength Evening Evergreen on the front…

…and a little Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – I am so going to miss this pine bough from Decorated Pine, aren’t you?!  And the bundled Decorated with Happiness complements it perfectly with its stamped boughs and ornaments – and pretty sentiments!  The Warm Welcome Die set is actually an early release from the Jan – Apr 2023 Mini Catalog – you can get it right now!

Now – if you’ve take a gander at the Last Chance Sale list – then you’ll have noticed that the Decorated Pine Die set will be on SALE (starting on 1 Dec!) for a cool HALF OFF!!  AKA 50% off – that means that if you don’t have this set yet – you can get the Decorated with Happiness stamp set at regular price ($23) and the Dies at half off ($17)!  That’s a seriously good deal!  But – they’re going to be while-supplies-last so…don’t tempt the Supply Chain gods, okay?!  Get ’em while the getting is good!

Finn Fan Fix

We pulled the brisket out of the smoker yesterday at about 3pm or so – it had been on since just after 4pm the day before.  Long and low, baby!! It gets wrapped in foil and a towel and then placed in a cooler (its a faux chambeau) until the inside temp drops back to 150 (so you can handle it to pull it apart).

And that begins the WAITING!  It’s hard on the people but…it’s torture I’m sure for a dog! 😳

So – when it finally comes out and the chopping and de-fatting get underway – he is RIGHT there to help!

He does get some bites of the fat that’s being trimmed away – we’re not monsters! – but…it’s never – EVER – as much as he would like!

Wayne is a bit…fanatical…when it comes to trimming the fat (so Finn and I “help” with that…)

But – for both of us – all good things must come to an end (for different reasons but…same result!)!

When your mom tells you…that’s it!  No more!

Notice the eyes cut back over to Dad to see if he’s following suite or…maybe…he’s a soft touch…

Hope springs eternal…

I simply remind Dad that HE has to get up at 2am if he lets the Man snooker him into giving him just ONE more bite….😂😂😂

We ended up with 10- 1/2 pound bags all vacuum sealed and ready for the freezer!  Yeah!!

I love brisket in the freezer!!

Oh my goodness! Made my mouth water even at 7:45 in the morning! …the brisket that is, although the card is lovely too. You lucky ducks:)
    I know how Finn feels…

Cute card, even if it is CAS! 😂 TFS. I’m with the Man—just one more bite please! 1/2# bags sure wouldn’t be big enough for me!

    • stampsnlingers

It is SO good, there’s no doubt!! 🙂 Glad you like the card – thanks, Susan! 🙂

  4. Your card is lovely, Mary! I love the Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake together!

  5. HA! Gilding a sow’s ear! Good one and I hadn’t heard that before.
Poor Finn, just has to drool and hope Dad, or someone tosses a tidbit now and then. If begging eyes worked…..Always good to have food in the freezer, ready when needed.
Oh, yes, pretty card too! love that timber embossing folder, and you can’t go wrong with pine boughs.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – they work. More than they should, I’m sure! Yep- brisket in the freezer is my oh-no-it’s-dinner-time-and-I-haven’t-a-clue go-to!! Thanks! Julie! 🙂

  6. This is such a pretty card! Love that metallic ornament and the beautiful pine boughs peeking out! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

  8. Gail S.

I’m definitely going to try this one for next Christmas—I need to increase my CAS ones and this one is lovely! So glad Finn got some tidbits. I’m sure I could almost smell the smoking from here–I have to make do with liquid smoke in the oven brisket. But it works!

    • stampsnlingers

It did smell good and the waiting was a booger!! Thanks so much, Gail! Have fun with this card! 🙂
