Happy Happy Hawmpp Day! We’re on the downward slide to the weekend! Whoo-hooo!
So – at the retreat last weekend, we did a little “class” on the Marker-to-Stamp coloring technique using Stampin’ Write Markers and the Stamparatus. I’d taken my Shaded Summer stamp set and 2021-2023 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers to do the demo. I was pretty happy with the resulting piece of art – so I tossed the panel into my stuff to bring home. I decided to parlay it into a quick and easy thank you card. Take a look-see:
The layout is from this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.
The art work that we made over the weekend is from Shaded Summer. I put the stamp on the Stamparatus plate and a piece of Basic White into the Stamparatus itself. Then I inked the various flowers, leaves and stems of the image using my Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Markers. The Stamparatus makes this technique possible – cuz you can stamp over and over in the exact same spot!!
I cut the image out using a Scalloped Contour Die.
I started the card by embossing a Basic White panel in the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder – then I matted it on Basic White to make the card front.
Using a Stitched Rectangle Die, I cut a piece of Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP. It wasn’t as long as I needed, so I cut it in half and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front…separating the two pieces – the gap is hidden by the art work!
I popped the art panel over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment, also from Shaded Summer, is stamped in Evening Evergreen on Basic White, then cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
Using Liquid Glue and a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment over the artwork.
Then I added a Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Jewel and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Shaded Summer sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel and added a Polished Pink In Color jewel. In the corners, I added the small leaf image from the set a couple three (okay – four!) times in stamped-off-once Evening Evergreen.
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Basic White panel and then into my Thick Basic White card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Shaded Summer leaves on the front – in full-strength Evening Evergreen…
…and more of the Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Color DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This big and beautiful floral image in Shaded Summer just begs for the Marker-to-Stamp coloring technique, don’t you think? Give it a try soon!
