Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Festive & Bright Christmas Card – a Retreat Card!

Hello, y’all – it’s Tuesday!  Tuesday is such a….”meh” kind of day.  It’s not the first day of the week (yuk).  It’s not the last day (yeah!) nor even the day BEFORE the last day (light at the end of the tunnel) and it’s fer sure not HAWWWMP Day!  It’s just…Tuesday.  Another day to slog thru to get to a day with a purpose! 🤷‍♀️

So…maybe this cheery card – brought to us by Sue Prather – that we created over the weekend at our retreat – will give you a little boost and something to be excited about! 🙂  This one uses the flyover Festive & Bright Bundle in the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog.  And some…FREE Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  I LOVE FREE paper, don’t you??  Take a look-see at what we did with this Peaceful Prints DSP and the Festive & Bright Bundle.

And the Sale-A-Bration Peaceful Prints DSP is the entry ticket for this week’s TGIF Challenge!

We started with a piece of tree-strewn free Peaceful Prints DSP that we matted on Basic Black for the card front.

Next up, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Christmas-garland image from Festive & Bright image in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Basic White card stock.

I used the matching die in the bundled Festive Finishes die set to cut the pretty edge.  I inserted the upper portion of the panel in the pine bough folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders pack and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

Then I matted the panel on a piece of Basic Black using Stampin’ Seal.

I used my Garden Green and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers to color the bough.

Using Glue Dots, I wrapped a length of Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back. Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Festive & Bright sentiment from the samely-named set in Real Red on Basic White, cut it with the Label Me Fancy Punch.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow from the ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

At this point – I totally missed a chance to add some Red Rhinestone Jewels.  Don’t be like me.  Before you declare your card front “done” – add some pretty bling! Stick them here and there in the pine garland, okay? 😉

On the inside, I stamped the pine bough again in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel and colored it as before.  And also forgot to add Red Rhinestone Jewels.  🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Real Red card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Festive & Bright pine bough on the front…

…and more Peaceful Prints DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I call the Festive & Bright Bundle a “flyover” set cuz it’s easy to miss as you run thru the catalog the first – or even fifth! – time! But take another look – you can hit on Fall/Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas – all with ONE stamp and die combo!  And – if you love Christmas-y colors and plaids and trees and deer and…FREE!…then you for SURE do not want to miss getting you some free Peaceful Prints DSP!  I hope you like!

If you’d like to re-create this card, all the card cuts and products used are listed down below!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the embossing! 🙂 That face in the last picture…priceless! Looks like he really isn’t enjoying those treats at all! 😉

  2. Auntie Karen knows the way to Finn’s heart…and taste buds! I love the design and traditional colors of your card. It surely brightened my mundane Tuesday! TFS and good luck in the challenge. I hadn’t seen that one. Have a blessed day.
