Stampin’ Up! Welcoming Woods Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I got a new stamp set in my pre-order (well, THAT’S the Department of Redundancy Department, right?) that has been sort of burning a hole in my stamp shelf.  So when I saw the theme for our challenge – it was a no brainer!  I pulled out the brand new – coming on 3 Aug in the Jul –  Dec 2021 Mini Catalog! – Welcoming Woods stamp set.  And I paired it up with some Beauty of the Earth DSP (which just so happens to be on sale right now with a 15% savings!).  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the theme for our challenge!

The layout for this one was inspired by the CASE the Designer challenge over at the Global Design Project this week.

I started with a leaf-strewn piece of the Beauty of the Earth DSP that I adhered to the front of a Crumb Cake card base using Liquid Glue.

Next – I embossed a wood-grain pattern in the Bark 3D Embossing Folder – matted it on Cajun Craze and added that to the card front with more Liquid Glue

For the art panel, I took a square of Basic White cardstock and used my Blending Brushes to create a sunset.  I started at the top with Night of Navy – then added Misty Moonlight – then Bumble Bee – and finally Cajun Craze at the bottom.

Then I placed the square into my Stamparatus and stamped the aspen grove image from Welcoming Woods in Early Espresso.

Also using the Stamparatus, I added the “ground” image…

…in Early Espresso.

I pulled the panel from the Stamparatus and used my Blending Brush to blur the “ground” a little – by brushing it lightly with Early Espresso Ink.  Then I stamped the leaves image from the set several times across the trees in Early Espresso.

Finally, I matted the panel on Cajun Craze.

Using Stampin’ Seal – I adhered a piece of 3/8″ Fine Art Ribbon across the panel – then I wrapped some gold twine from the Simply Elegant Trim pack twice around, securing it in the back with a couple of Glue Dots.  I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Crumb Cake, I stampd the Welcoming Woods sentiment in Cajun Craze, cut it with a Stitched Rectangle die and popped it over the gold trim with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow with the Gold Simply Elegant Trim and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

Finally, I added a gold Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot (new in the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini coming on 3 Aug) to the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Welcoming Woods in Cajun Craze on a Basic White panel.  Then I stamped the leaves – this time in Misty Moonlight.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cajun Craze mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Misty Moonlight leaves a few times on the front…

…and a little more of the Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…if you missed this Welcoming Woods stamp set on your first swing thru the new catalog – take another look-see!  That stand of Aspen is….stunning!  – and the pretty sentiments cover birthdays, thank you, good luck…and more!  And it can be wintry or….not!   As mentioned – right now is a GREAT time to stock up on Beauty of the Earth DSP – it’s part of the DSP sale running thru 31 July and will snag you a 15% savings!

I hope you like!
