Stampin’ Up! Pampered Pets Comfort & Hope

Good morning, y’all – and happy Friday!  Hope your week was good and that you’ve got a good something planned for the weekend!  Not sure we’ll have the weather for planting – but…at least we won’t have to water the garden.  Maybe? 😉

I’ve got a pet sympathy card for you today – not cuz I need one right now but…because it’s one I like to have in my stash.  So – I pulled out my go-to-Pet-Punch….the Dog Builder Punch (which is RETIRING and on sale for a WHOPPING 40% off!!), the Pampered Pets and Comfort & Hope stamp sets – plus Playful Pets DSP.  There’s a couple of other faves in there, too – take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches – I flipped the sketch 90 degrees!

And the animal theme is from The Paper Players this week.

I started with two designs from the Playful Pets DSP (this is RETIRING) – and I adhered the striped paper to a Real Red mat with Liquid Glue for the card front.  Using the scallop edge die in the Shark Die set – I cut the edge of the second piece of DSP.  I had to run it thru twice – the die isn’t as long as the paper!  I adhered the panel over top of the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I cut a large Stitched Shapes square (Y’ALL – THESE ARE RETIRING!! YES – I KNOW I’M YELLING!  If you do not have these get them NOW!!) in Basic White and one in Real Red.  From the center of the white square, I cut one of the hearts from the Stitched Be Mine Die set.

Then I popped the white square atop the red square with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered the stacked square to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut the dog using the Dog Builder Punch from a piece of Basic Black and used Liquid Glue and Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it “into” the heart negative space.

I put a piece of Washi Tape over the bottom half of the Pampered Pets sentiment and stamped just the top (“Always in Your Heart”) in Real Red onto a strip of Basic White.  I snipped a banner end on one side and adhered it with Liquid Glue over the dog shape.

I tied a tiny bow from the black-and-white twine in the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  A single Red Rhinestone on the sentiment finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the Comfort & Hope (RETIRING and on sale for 20% off!) sentiment in Real Red on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the Pampered Pets dog image in Tuxedo Black.  He’s colored with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack and Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pampered Pets image on the front…

…and a little more Playful Pets DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I don’t know, you guys – the Dog Builder Punch MAY have to stay in my stash – it’s just so…perfect for these kinds of cards-we-hate-to-need-but-love-to-have-when-we-DO-need-them, right?  Pampered Pets and the matching Pets Dies are carrying over – but the bundled PRICE is not – so…if you don’t have it, grab it now and save that 10%!  I love the Black-Red-White color scheme in the retiring Playful Pets DSP, too – it’s such a great color combination. 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

A discussion between Wayne and Finn.

Yes?

Can I help you?

I got nuthin’.

Like…when a toddler rattles off a long-winded explanation and the adult looks at her like…say what now??

And the toddler has to be thinking…and YOU are in charge of ME?

Same kind of conversation. 😉

  1. Commentary for FFF, funny! Card…I love! My head is still spinning from the retirement list. Have a great weekend. I will be trying to grill chicken on charcoal grill for first time. I’ve watched everyone long enough, I should be able to do it!

    • stampsnlingers

You can do it! Just give yourself time for the coals to die down and become cookable! It’s going to be yummy! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Such a sweet card! Love the design with the scalloped edge. Sad that punch is retiring…but yay for the big discount! Finn is just saying, “Come on…I know that we’re going to do something so fun…hurry up and let’s go do it!!” 🙂

    Hi Mary,
This is a card we never want to need……but we do often need it. I love the big heart with the doggie in it. I was almost out of this doggie paper so just ordered more!!…..(I will copy your card).
Cute of Finn and Wayne. My doggie gets VERY frustrated with me when I don’t know what she is talking about….!
