Stampin’ Up! Garden Wishes Butterfly Bijou for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate Spring!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I think of flowers and bees and birds and butterflies when I think of Spring – so…I pulled out some Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP and combined it with the Garden Wishes stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is the SECOND sketch from this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge.  I TOLD you I would end up using it!! 🙂

The color palette is from the TGIF Challenge.

And our theme dovetailed perfectly with The Paper Players challenge.

I started with a piece of butterfly-strewn paper from the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP that I adhered to the front of my Daffodil Delight card base with Liquid Glue.

Next, I stamped the sweet dandelion image (yes – they’re “sweet” on a card but…not so much in my pasture!!) – three times in Tuxedo Black on Basic White cardstock.  Then I cut them with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

Using Blending Brushes, I added color to each panel – in Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Just Jade.  Then I matted them on Basic Black and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a sentiment from Garden Wishes in Just Jade ink and cut it with another of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I added some fly-away dandelion seeds in Daffodil Delight all around it and then popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using a small detailed butterfly die in the Brilliant Wings die set – I cut one from a piece of Daffodil Delight and one from Vellum cardstocks.  I adhered the Vellum die cut to the Daffodil Delight butterfly with a Glue Dot.

I adhered the butterfly to the sentiment with Liquid Glue – then added four small Pearl Basic Jewels to the “body”.  A Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dot finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added the larger floral from Garden Wishes in Tuxedo Black to a Basic White panel.  I colored the image with my Daffodil Delight and Just Jade Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my card base – popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large Garden Wishes floral on the front…

…and more of the Butterfly Bijou DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love silhouette images, don’t you?  And the two florals in Garden Wishes are gorgeous and perfect on a blended color background!  I love the versatility of the Brilliant Wings Dies – you can add a butterfly just about anywhere!!  And, of course, we’ve all figured out just how cool the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP is, right?

I hope you like!
