Happy Happy HAWWWWMP Day!! Yep – it’s mid-week and you’re at the top of the hill. It’s a downhill slide to the weekend from here! 🙂
Weekends are fun. Everyone likes weekends!
And…new stamp sets and dies – swarming with uber-cute-and-stinkin’-adorable chickens are ALSO fun. And everyone ALSO likes THEM! Which means everyone is going to LOVE this new bundle that you’re going to be able to get on 2 Feb! It’s called the Hey Birthday Chick bundle! Now – Hey Birthday Chick is already IN the Jan- Jun 2021 Mini Catalog (page 52 if you’re looking). But – in a couple of weeks (or…right NOW if you’re a Demonstrator or JOIN NOW!) – you’ll be able to get the Hey Birthday Chick DIES! I’ve used this new bundle today – with some Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one comes from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.
I started with a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the card front. From a piece of Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP I cut two rectangles with the second-largest of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and adhered them to the panel with Liquid Glue.
Then I pulled out the Hey Birthday Chick dies, cut a Bumble Bee sentiment (how cool is that?!?) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Whisper White (Basic White will for sure work, too!), I stamped the cute chicken and balloon image from Hey Birthday Chicken in Early Espresso. I also stamped the balloon part on a piece of Blackberry Bliss Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP. Using the die in the Hey Birthday Chicken set to cut the chicken and balloon. I fussy cut the DSP balloon and colored over the lines with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker, then popped it over the stamped balloon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I colored the chicken with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Combo and Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker.
Using the fence die in Hey Birthday Chicken Dies I cut an Early Espresso fence. I also cut three “feed sacks” – one each in Bumble Bee, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake.
I adhered the fence and three “feed sacks” with Liquid Glue – then popped the chicken and balloon over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I decided my chicken was a hen – and needed a hair bow – so I cut one (yes, it’s in the die set!) from the same Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP paper and stuck it in her hair with Liquid Glue. And…the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Hey Birthday Chick image in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Whisper White (or Basic White). I colored it with Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend Combos and Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker. I also stamped the image on the Dandy Garden DSP and fussy cut just the cupcake liner, which I adhered with Liquid Glue over the stamped image. Then I stamped a second sentiment in Bumble Bee.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Mossy Meadow and Bumble Bee mats and then into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the fun chicken and cupcake image on the front…
…and more of the Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! You know, I loved the Hey Chick set when it was part of 2017 Sale-A-Bration and these little guys and gals in the Hey Birthday Chick set are all similar to those guys! And…add in the totes-adorbs Hey Birthday Chick Die set….and you’ve got a winner!
And – we’re ALSO going to see the return of Hey Chick. With dies of its own!
I hope you like and…are adding the whole shootin’ match to your I-gotta-get-it list!!

Finn Fan Fix
Since his arrival four years ago, we’ve taught Finn to not go into the stalls.
At all. Whether the horses are in them or not. For obvious reasons.
And he’s been pretty solid on it. He does lean into the doorway some to…sniff the sniffs and see if they dropped any food.
Or….erhm…droppings. 😉
So – imagine my surprise when, as I was cleaning Cady’s stall yesterday morning, I look up to see…
Four paws in. ALL the way in.
You can see he knows he’s been spotted.
So….
I think this is the dog equivalent of whistling! Nothing to see here. Just a dog. In a stall….
Maybe she won’t be mad if I offer an obedience behavior. And be really cute.
Who knows. It could work!!

Oh, that rascally Finn! I love your card. I think I’m going to place my order today just to get that cute little bow, feed sacks and chicken coop!
I know – the bow just killed me! Thanks, Karen! 🙂
Such a cute card! That stamp set bundle is so much fun! Poor Finn…he was just supervising and making sure that you were doing things correctly and he happened to accidentally walk into the stall. It happens sometimes when you’re really intently supervising. 😉
It’s pretty easy to wander where you shouldn’t when keeping an eye on the help, there’s no doubt! Thanks, Amy !:)
The more I see cards with the chicks, the more I love that set! Very cute card, inside and out and envelope! Inside and out, just like Finny—pushing the envelope!
Yep – always on the edge! Thanks, Susan! 🙂
Cute card – those birthdays chicks are adorable! Thanks for joining us this week at CC&S!
Thanks so much, Jeanne! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
Hey Mary…..when I saw birthday chickens, I didn’t think I needed them….but those DIES……oh my, can’t resist. Then way back in the cupboard, I found the original chickens!! Well……now I just need the whole kit and kaboodle. Your card really is just too darn cute!! I really love the die to cut out HAPPY BIRTHDAY……that can be used everywhere!!
ok…..what happened to Finn……poor Finn…..guess he just couldn’t help himself Aw….more lessons to come probably.
Yeah – happy that you found the set! 🙂 And…yes. Will have to reinforce the need to stay on the OUTside of the stalls! Won’t take much – just a few reminders. 🙂 Thanks, Faith!
I love those chicks…….I already have the first round of chicks. Will have to get the next set with some dies!!
Well, whatcha’ gonna’ do about that little infraction?? First it’s just a paw, then 3 paws & then the whole body!! They are so dang cute about sneekin’ past the “line” but rules are rules!! This will be interesting!!
Yeah – time to be a little more “by the book” for a minute. Just need to remind him of the rules – cuz..getting kicked again would be really bad! 😉 Thanks, Karen! 🙂
Oh my, I didn’t think I needed this set but you’ve changed my mind! Love your card, Mary.
Thanks, Pat – it’s super cute! 🙂
What a character. It only took 4 years to get up enough courage to disobey! Pretty good, I’d say.
A.dor.able card! Love those chickens. They will be on my next order. (I still have my Hey Chick stamp set so will get the rest). I’m a farm girl you know, though I don’t have any chickens.
I know you are! And – he’s petty darned good. I’ve been a little slack insisting on him staying ALL the way out of the stall – so…like any kid… 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Loved the Finn post today. Such a precious Boy.
Thanks, Dianne- he’s a love, for sure! 🙂
You’re right! The chick is super adorable and your design is fabulous! Thanks for joining us this week at CC&S:)
Thanks so much! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
Super cute Mary, both inside and out! Can’t wait for my dies to arrive to start playing with this set. Thanks for joining us at CAS Colours and Sketches this week!
Thanks, Joanne – I know you’re going to have a lot of fun with them! 🙂
Such a cute card and thanks so much for joining us this week at CC&S!
Thanks, Holly – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
