Stampin’ Up! Wrapped in Christmas for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a color challenge, today – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

When I saw the color scheme we had for today, I saw “Christmas” (and I think you would, too!).  So…I pulled out the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set and some Plaid Tidings DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our color challenge!  We had to pick at least three of the colors, but… I feel like I hit all of them with my three plaid patterns! 🙂

The layout for this one comes from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And – I played along at the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too!  I went down the diagonal from left to right!

I saw Linda Callahan’s cute card using this sketch and it gave me the idea to pull out the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch!

I started with a Crumb Cake panel that I ran thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder, then matted on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.

I took three patterns from the Plaid Tidings DSP and punched three Rectangular Postage Stamp Punches.  I also punched three Cherry Cobbler pieces and adhered the plaid cut-outs to the Cherry Cobbler mats using Liquid Glue.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a Gold Hoop Embellishment to the card front – then adhered a big bow tied with the gold trim from the Wonder of the Season Ribbon Combo Pack with another Glue Dot.

I adhered the three matted pieces of Plaid Tidings to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

I put a piece of Whisper White into my Stamparatus and used it to stamp the sentiment from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set.  I colored the stamp using the Marker-to-Rubber technique and my Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.  Tip:  use the Stamparatus!  And…don’t press the stamp down too hard – it can cause “clumping” of ink when you use the Marker-to-Rubber technique.  Instead…ink…huff warm breath over the stamp to reactivate the ink – stamp – repeat as often as necessary.  Layering the ink works much better than trying to get it all done on one stamping.  And the Stamparatus makes it possible!  🙂

I cut the sentiment with my 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels in Cherry Cobbler finished off the card front.

On the inside, I used the Marker-to-Rubber technique again to stamp a second Wrapped in Christmas sentiment onto a Whisper White panel.  I added some Garden Green fluer-de-do’s in the corner and a couple three Cherry Cobbler gems, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some Wrapped in Christmas fluer-de-do’s in Garden Green on the front…

…and more of the Plaid Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Crumb Cake – Plaid Tidings – and sweet Wrapped in Christmas sentiments – all atop a Dainty Diamonds 3D embossed panel!  Pretty perfect for Christmas, huh?  I hope you like.
