Stampin’ Up! Plaid Press On In Good Taste!

Good morning and welcome back to the week!  Did y’all have a good weekend?  We enjoyed ours – no more riding for us due to the wet and sloggy mud from Saturday’s rain.  Hoping to get back out there a couple times this week!

I made a quick and easy card for you today.  Now – there IS a little fussy cutting but it’s so worth it.  And not all that hard.  I used the fun Press On stamp set – for all us coffee lovers! – and TWO designer papers (BOTH of which are on SALE right now:  The In Good Taste DSP and Plaid Tidings DSP.  Two of my faves!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge – although you can see I gave it a flip!

And I also played along with the Festive Friday challenge.  Look for a Hot Drink, Plaid, Die Cut, Pearls, Brown and Gold in my card!

Finally – I made this one be a little more masculine in tone – for the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

I started with a piece of In Good Taste DSP that I matted on Cinnamon Cider for the card front.

Next – using a Stitched Rectangle Die – I cut four pieces of Cinnamon Cider Plaid Tidings DSP.  I used the same die to cut a Whisper White rectangle.

On the Whisper White die cut, I stamped a Press On sentiment in Early Espresso (I feel like this color MUST be on any card that has a coffee theme.  Am I right??!).  I cheated the sentiment towards the left side of the rectangle.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the rectangles to the card front.

On a piece of Whisper White – I stamped the large cup image from Press On in Early Espresso.  Then I stamped it again.  Then I stamped it a THIRD time on the same In Good Taste DSP that I’d used for the card front.

I fussy cut one of the whole cups.  Then I fussy cut just that lid.  THEN I fussy cut the coozy from the DSP-stamped image.

I adhered the coozy to the full-cup image with Liquid Glue.  Then I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the lid on.

Using my Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend – I very lightly brushed it on the sides of the cup and lid – to help it look a little less….flat! 😉

I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

From a piece of Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP – I fussy cut a small pumpkin (in Cajun Craze and gold foil) – and popped it onto the coozy with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

I colored a few Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend – popped them on – and the caed front was done!

On the inside, I matted another piece of In Good Taste DSP on Cinnamon Cider and adhered it across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  I adhered another Plaid Tidings Stitched Rectangles Die with Liquid Glue as well.  I added a second Press On sentiment in Early Espresso – and a Cinnamon Cider colored Pearl Basic Jewel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cinnamon Cider mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got an Early Espresso Press On cup – colored with my Light Crumb Cake Blend and another fun sentiment…

…and a little more Plaid Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Press On stamp set is so much fun – I love the “steam” sentiment and the large images – but…take a peek at the little line of cups!  I think it’s perfect for when you need a masculine card, don’t you?

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Might not have been MY first choice as a pillow, but….

…he was sleeping pretty hard, so…musta been okay!

If only his parents would buy him a comfy bed or something.

Or…let him lay on the sofa….

…or appropriate the chair….

…oh wait…. 😉

  1. Love your card Mary! The colors and design are perfect! Well…the spot by the window does allow Finn to stay “on guard” even when he has to close his eyes for just a minute. 😉 And his bed is all full of toys, too much work to move them all and the chair and couch are too far from the window. So maybe you should put the chair and ottoman right there in front of the door and he’d be all set. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Hmm – I had not considered putting the chair and ottoman right by the back door in the kithen. Will take a look at the feng shui….. 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Susan K

Love your fun take on the sketch. That little fussy-cut pumpkin wins my heart.
Finn says he was waiting for you to put a pillow under his head on the door frame and just dozed off! 😂

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – might be. His staff is falling down on the job! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  3. That Finn! He gives you (and us) many hours of entertainment.
I like this card. And, you did flip it, and move the rectangles around, and add the coffee, and…..! Should be a winner. How do you have time to find all those challenges??

    • stampsnlingers

We’ll see, huh? And – I have a list – and am on their mailing list so I get an e-mail! 😉 Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  4. Angie Latham

Love the card! Will def case! You know how you like the cold side of a pillow? Well, I’ll bet that aluminum sill Finn has his head on is nice and cool!

    • stampsnlingers

That surely could be it – and something I hadn’t thought of! I bet you’re right. 🙂 Thanks – and happy CASEing! 🙂

  5. This is such a wonderful card. Love how you’ve flipped the sketch to fit your panels and showcase that fab coffee cup! thanks for joining us at FMS this week!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Narelle! 🙂 Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  6. I love the patterns on and behind that coffee cup! Such a fun use of the sketch. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
