Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Itty Bitty Birthday Card

Mornin’, y’all!  So…breaking news….We’re down to it, you guys.  Today.  Tomorrow.  And…gone!  The Pick a Free Bundle Starter Kit Promotion that is!  I’ve seen a few joining specials since I came on board in 2014.  But this one really takes the cake.

Or…the BUNDLE, as it were.  Truly – this is an amazing joining offer!  I would so love to have you join us!!  Give me a holler with questions or….to get signed up now! 😎

There are ALSO only two days remaining to earn an EXTRA $25 in Stampin’ Rewards!  That means…when you fill that new catalog Wish List and spend $250 (before shipping and tax) – you’ll find yourself with a cool $50 in free money!!

Okay – promotional plug – done! 😉

I DID make a card for you today (were you starting to wonder??!) – using the stunning Celebrate Sunflowers BUNDLE (ie: one you could pick for FREE!!) – and the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that I embossed in one of the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders (the one with the butterflies).  I ran it thru twice – turning the panel to get the entire thing embossed.  Then I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere it to a Bumble Bee mat for the card front.

I embossed a smaller panel in the second of the two Meadow Moments embossing folders, matted it on Bumble Bee and adhered it to the card front with more Stampin’ Seal.

I used some Glue Dots to adhere a length of Cinnamon Cider Ribbon.

On another piece of Crumb Cake card stock, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the big flower from Celebrate Sunflowers in Bumble Bee ink.  Then I cut it with the outline die in the bundled Sunflower Dies.

I used the detailed flower die to cut a flower from a piece of Bumble Bee 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I also cut a flower center from a Cinnamon Cider piece of the DSP.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed flower to the solid flower – only adhering the middle of the flower and leaving the petals loose.  I popped the flower center on with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays in Cinnamon Cider ink on a piece of Very Vanilla.  Then I fussy cut the two words and edged each little piece with my Bumble Bee Stampin’ Write Marker.

I adhered the sentiment words with Liquid Glue – added a few 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added a sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers in Cinnamon Cider on a Very Vanilla mat.  Then I used the Stamparatus to add the large sunflower in Bumble Bee ink.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into my Cinnamon Cider card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another sunflower on the front…

…and I added some Cinnamon Cider 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This Celebrate Sunflowers bundle is truly one of the best in the Annual Catalog, don’t you think? Between the gorgeous images in the stamp set – and your ability to cut flowers and leaves with the matching Sunflowers Dies….it’s amazing!  I hope you like!

And – I think this would be a great choice for your FREE bundle, too! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

So…our big “thing” this week has been getting a big load of free compost from the county recycling place.

And mixing it with other stuff.

And putting it in our new flower bed.

Part 1 – get the stuff.  That was the genesis of the wait-to-load scenario from yesterday’s post.

Once we got it home – Dad and son (aka Finn) – unloaded said free compost.

A work-site always needs a supervisor.

So…although the dump trailer got all the way…up to full dumping height – the compost didn’t want to come out.

Here’s where our OSHA supervisor lost control of the jobsite.

Dad – forgetting that he’s not 35.  Or…even 45!…anymore….

Decided this would be a good idea.

And – since he couldn’t get all the compost out from there…

And then – the compost started to move.

Down.

With Dad.

Unlike Mom – who would never had made it that far to begin with and, if she had, would have been on her sizeable hindquarters at this point – Dad just rode it down.  All those years walking rafters and riding young racehorses who weren’t on board with the whole thing…he’s a bit of a monkey.  Even at…not-even-55-anymore!

OSHA supervisor?  No citation?  No warning?  Hello?!?

  1. Love your creation. Those two colors go great together. You crack me up with your side stories! Glad no one was hurt in your side story.

Me, too! No time to spend in the hospital!! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. Susan K

Love the sunflower and all that embossing. Very pretty.
Looks like Wayne is compost surfing. Good way for a farmer to pass a lazy afternoon. 🤣

    • stampsnlingers

Right?? No beach? No problem! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  3. So pretty! Love the layering, great colors on your card too!

And I’m right there with you…I’d have been on my butt sliding in the pile of “compost mixed with stuff” all the way to the ground. Although, I likely wouldn’t have tried it in the first place…I have trouble walking on flat ground without falling down most day. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

I wouldn’t have made it up three steps. Not sure I could have even climbed into the trailer to START with!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  4. Gerri K

    Beautiful card Mary!
Holy Cow! Were you screaming “Be Careful” while Wayne was riding that compost down the slide?? That’s what I would be doing. lol

    • stampsnlingers

I was admonishing him – but…I’ve seen him do it too many times! So…just kept snapping pics! Thanks! 🙂

  5. Absolutely lovely! The detail in that sunflower is amazing – and I love the two different textures behind it. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
