Stampin’ Up! Stylish Ornate Garden Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

The sketch this week was pretty wide open, so I figured I’d give you another want-it-whetter from the new Early Release Ornate Garden Suite!  I used the Ornate Thanks and Ornate Style stamp sets, a little Ornate Garden Specialty DSP and….my new favorite die set – Stitched So Sweetly.  Take a look see:

And here’s that sketch – maybe you’ll want to use it to jump-start your creative mojo!

Although it’s not an Easter card, I used the color palette from this week’s Sunday Stamps challenge.

I started with some Old Olive paper (the foiled design) from the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP.  Across the bottom I adhered a strip of non-foiled Old Olive paper with Liquid Glue.  Across the seam, using a little SNAIL and a couple of Glue Dots on the back, I ran a length of Terracotta Tile (I sort of interpreted that brownish color in the palette as Terracotta Tile!) ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.

I matted the whole thing on Pumpkin Pie to make the card front.

On a piece of Whisper White, in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large floral image from the Ornate Style stamp set.

I used my Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs to color all the flowers except the two daisies.  Those I colored with my Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil.

I added a large sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Pumpkin Pie and the smaller sentiment in Terracotta Tile.  Then I cut the image and sentiment with the largest rectangle die in the Stitched So Sweetly die set.

In the corner, I added a flourish from Ornate Style in Old Olive.  Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double length simple bow from the Terracotta Tile ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I added some Pumpkin Pie gems from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the Night of Navy flowers.  A blue gem from the same Rhinestone pack finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a Pumpkin Pie-matted strip of the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped a couple more Old Olive flourishes, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Old Olive card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two more Old Olive flourishes on the front…

…and more of the foiled Ornate Garden Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Ornate Garden Suite is coming SOON – like…next week!  The anchoring bundles – Ornate Style (with the bundled Ornate Layers Die set) and Ornate Thanks (bundled with Ornate Borders) are wonderful and perfectly complement the coordinating Ornate Garden Specialty DSP!  Isn’t it exciting to be able to play with a 2020-2021 Annual Catalog Suite EARLY!?

I hope you like and are making plans to add the whole suite to your stash!
