Stampin’ Up! Wonderfully Wicked Monster Bash for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

The colors for this week really lent themselves to a Halloween card.  And so – that’s what I did!  I’d been hankering to use the big sentiment die from the Wicked Die set (bundled with the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set!) and this seemed like just the time to do that and pair it up with some Monster Bash DSP.  Take a look-see:

It’s hard – but…can you guess our challenge colors?!?  LOL

And I decided that it would fit right in with the Just Us Girls Trend Week challenge!

I started with some paper from the Monster Bash DSP that I matted on Pumpkin Pie for the card front.

The next layer is a Pearlized Doily that I colored (the back of) with my Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.  I brushed some Clear Wink of Stella over the top and then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I doubled up some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine – tied a large loose bow – and adhered it to the middle of the doily with a Glue Dot.  Then I adhered a length of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon across the doily.

For the art, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the cat image from Wonderfully Wicked in Pumpkin Pie on a piece of Whisper White.  Next to it, I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black.

I stamped the cat on a sticky note and fussy cut it – then laid that mask over the cat on the panel.  I inked the spider web image in Basic Gray, stamped it once on scrap paper, and then stamped it over the cat and sentiment.

I cut the art with a Stitched Nested Label die – brushed the edges with Pumpkin Pie using a Sponge Dauber – and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut the Wicked Die sentiment – once from Black Foil and twice from Pumpkin Pie – and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  Then I used Liquid Glue and some pieces of Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.

I stamped the final sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a strip of Pumpkin Pie and snipped banners in both ends.  I rolled the banner slightly, sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie and adhered it with Dimensionals.

Finally – I cut one Black Foil and two Basic Black spiders, stacked them up and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I finished off with some Pumpkin Pie jewels from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack – and the card was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Wonderfully Wicked in Tuxedo Black on a Whisper White panel and added the spider web over top in stamped-off-once Basic Gray.  I cut another Black Foil spider and adhered him with Liquid Glue.  And I added a few more of those Pumpkin Pie jewels, too!  Cuz I like them! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another spider web and cat on the front (using my handy mask again!)…

…and I added some more of the Monster Bash DSP to the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Boy, do I love that die cut sentiment and spider in the Wicked Die set! And the bundled Wonderfully Wicked stamp set is seriously fun (is that an oxymoron??) with sentiments and images to create all sorts of Halloween fun!  I hope you like! 🙂
