Stampin’ Up! Well Said, Botanic Butterfly, Well Said!

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day – from…Maryland!

Not Mary. Land.

That would be like…Wayne’s World.

This is Maryland.  As in Baltimore!

And it’s cold as a well-digger’s bucket here – but, thankfully, no snow.  Oh – there are some piles here and there leftover from the last storm – but the streets are clear and dry.

Which is excellent – cuz I am non-current (by a LONG ways!) on snow and ice driving.  And not really interested in renewing that ticket!

So – I have a spring-ish card for you today and it’s a fun one.  Butterflies everywhere!  Courtesy of the FREE Botanical Butterfly DSP in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Plus a little Grapefruit Grove Foil – ALSO from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  And my sentiments are from the Well Said Bundle in the Occasions Catalog.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the FabFriday sketch challenge!

And – I played along with the As You See It Theme Week Challenge, too!

I also took some inspiration from my friend Amy Koender’s card…check IT out right here!

I started with some Daffodil Delight paper from the Brights DSP and matted it on a piece of new Grapefruit Grove Foil for the card front.

Next up is a piece of Botanical Butterfly DSP, also matted on Grapefruit Grove Foil, then adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped some Daffodil Delight Organdy Ribbon (sold out for right this minute – but it’ll be back in March!! 🙂 ) around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

To make the sentiment, I started with a banner cut from more of the Brights DSP and adhered over the ribbon with Liquid Glue.

Then I cut the sentiment die – and the little butterfly – from Grapefruit Grove Foil using dies in the new Well Written Framelits.  I adhered them both to the banner with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a sentiment from the matching (and bundled!) Well Said stamp set in Balmy Blue on Whisper White and then fussy cut the two words.  I edged the two little pieces with my Grapefruit Grove Stampin’ Write Marker and then added them to the card front with a little Liquid Glue.

I tied a little bow from the Organdy Ribbon and stuck it on with a Glue Dot.  A Grapefruit Grove Share What You Love Artisan Pearl finished it all off!

On the inside, I added a second Well Said sentiment in Balmy Blue to a Whisper White panel.  Then I cut out a flourish from some Daffodil Delight card stock and another Grapefruit Grove Foil butterfly, using the dies in Well Written (how versatile is this Framelit set?!?) and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  A couple of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls completed the inner liner!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Grapefruit Grove Foil mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope I added another butterfly and flourish – I colored the insides of the little flowers with the Grapefruit Grove Stampin’ Write Marker…

…and then I put some more of that wonderful Botanical Butterfly DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am really loving the Well Said Bundle – I think sentiment dies are the bomb-diggity, don’t you?!?  And I’m pretty sure y’all are loving this Botanical Butterfly and Organdy Ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Cuz – you’re telling me that on your comments from yesterday’s blog post!  Hope you like!

There’s a LOT of goodness associated with Sale-A-Bration.  Be sure to read all about it down below!

Organdy Ribbon Temporarily Sold Out!

Stampin’ Up! posted the following update last night:

The Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack (item 149623) may be one of our most popular Sale-A-Bration items ever. It’s been so popular, in fact, that it has exceeded our product forecast and sold out in our North American markets. We have a shipment coming in to fulfill backorders, but because this item has been in such high demand, we have been forced to turn off the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. Unfortunately, this initial shipment will help us fulfill only orders that have already been placed. Once backorders have been fulfilled, a second shipment will arrive at the beginning of March, which will allow us to turn on this item again; it will be available while supplies last only.

We’re so sorry for the inconvenience.  The good news is that there are lots of great items still available AND new items coming February 15!

  1. Pretty card! I love that butterfly paper and you’ve showcased it perfectly. Stay warm up there…it’s pretty cold down south in GA too! 🙂

  2. Beth Kist

Welcome to Maryland! I live right outside Baltimore and read your posts daily. I also have a dog that acts a lot like Finn. I thoroughly enjoy your posts, cards, and the updates on Finn. Hope you have a great time in Baltimore! Beth

Thanks so much, Beth! Maybe we can get together when I’m here longer!! 🙂

  3. Lovley card. Can’t beat butterflies. Another 8″ of snow here. Digging out. Good thing I still have my snow driving skills! Though, I won’t be going anywhere today. Everything cancelled even if I wanted to go anywhere.

How could you not see butterflies and hot colours and not think of summer? The Grapefruit Grove foil is fabulous. I just got some – I’d passed it by at first – but it is amazing! It changes colour with the light in such a beautiful way, it’s the perfect metallic element for the challenge. Thanks for joining us again at As You See It, Mary.

    • stampsnlingers

I know!! It’s gorgeous! Thank you so much for the kind words – and I really appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. Mary, don’t you just love the holographic properties of that Grapefruit Grove Foil? It’s certainly perfect for your butterfly project with all it’s rainbow colours. So pretty! Thanks for playing along with us again at As You See It Challenges!
