Stampin’ Up! Buffalo Check Cross-Stitched Christmas Sneak Peek

Hey y’all – welcome to Monday and the start of another week.

Or – as I like to call it – the LAST week for me in Cali!!  I’ll be home the next time I do a Monday post.  Whooo-hooo! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I thank you for spending part of your weekend with me.  It felt good to be back in the video-saddle!  If you weren’t able to join us, but would like to see how to make today’s card, here’s the sorta-instant replay on YouTube!

The card uses several new goodies from the 2018 Holiday Catalog – that you’ll be able to get as a customer on 5 Sept.  Or…you can join the team and pick them as part of your Starter Kit – and buy the rest with your shiny new 20% discount! Give me a holler if that sounds like something you’d be interested in doing!

I pulled out the new Buffalo Check, Cross-Stitched Christmas and Winter Woods stamp sets, along with the Sprig Punch – all from the Holiday catalog – and added them to some Pretty Pines and Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF elements.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

I started by using my Stamparatus to stamp the Buffalo Check background in Mossy Meadow on Crumb Cake card stock, then I tore the edges and sponged them in Crumb Cake ink to create the vintage look.  I made a second card front by embossing a Crumb Cake panel in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I added the Buffalo Check panel to the embossed panel on a slight angle with Liquid Glue.

I sponged some Crumb Cake over a length of new Striped Burlap Ribbon (coming on 5 Sept) to tone down the white stripe and adhered it to the card front with a line of Liquid Glue.

I cut several Mossy Meadow pine boughs and a Copper Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper Pine Cone with the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies and a couple of Copper Glimmer Paper Sprig Punch shapes.  Then I used Liquid Glue to add all but the pine cone to the card front.

I used the Stamparatus again to stamp the Cross-Stitched Christmas sentiment in Mossy Meadow to a piece of Crumb Cake, then I tore and sponged the edges.  I popped the sentiment over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added the Glimmer Paper pine cone to the end with Liquid Glue.

I tied a double-loop Billie Bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with some Liquid Glue.  I tied a simple bow from a single length of Linen Thread and two lengths of Copper Metallic Thread and adhered it on top of the Billie Bow.

I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels colored with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.  Then I popped the card front on to a Mossy Meadow mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals and set it all aside.

For the inside, I embossed and sponged a second Pinewood Planks Crumb Cake panel.  Then, with a second Crumb Cake panel, I tore and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I stamped a second sentiment from Cross-Stitched Christmas in Mossy Meadow, then added some pine boughs and cones from the new Winter Woods set, in Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede.

I adhered the panel to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue, then to a Mossy Meadow mat.  I adhered the whole thing into my Cherry Cobbler card base and added the card front with Liquid Glue.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Winter Woods pine boughs and cones in Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede on the front…

…and then I stamped the envelope flap with the Buffalo Check background in Mossy Meadow (check the video for a cool trick!).

Et Voila!  I really really love how this card turned out – and know that you’re going to want to add the Buffalo Check, Winter Woods and Cross-Stitched Christmas to your ever-growing list of “needs!” from the 2018 Holiday Catalog!  Hope you like!

So happy you’re back in the saddle and that you’ll really be home next week. I didn’t quite make it to watch it live with comments and hearts, but I saw it last night. I would have sent lots of hearts. I don’t usually like subdued cards, probably from having to switch from beautiful Air Force blue on my fatigues to ugly subdued crap. But your card, I really like. I loved everything about it and now am even more impatient for getting the new holiday catty. TYFS.
