Stampin’ Up! Manly Moments May Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day!!  We’re making it folks!  And – there’s only a week and a half before 1) the retiring goodies are gone gone gone and 2) the new Annual Catalog goes live!  Yikes!

My new Paper Pumpkin arrived on Monday and – when I opened it up and saw the wonderful laser die cut pine trees…I was ready to roll!

This cool kit makes 10 full-up A2-sized cards – with 10 really nicely decorated envelopes!

The basis is the exclusive Manly Moments stamp set with tons of great sentiments.

Yes – that’s a Mossy Meadow Ink Spot!!  Whoo-hooo!

There are two kinds of cards – regular side-fold and some fun tri-fold cards.

I – cuz it’s me! – pulled out my Waterfront stamp set and used the awesome pine trees stamp to add a little woodsy-bling!  Don’t worry if you don’t have the Waterfront set – you can make awesome cards even without it!  Of course, I’d have to ask WHY you don’t have the Waterfront set – and urge you to remedy that at once!

I also made all of mine into thank you cards – sort of deviating from the instructions!

I love the stickers that create the mountains and lake for the front of the A2 card…the trees (those wonderful laser die-cut trees!) are popped on with the included Stampin’ Dimensionals.

…and check out this fun-fold!

Stampin’ Up! made a video for y’all so you can see all the deets about this kit – check it out!!

Finn Fan Fix

A few weeks back – shortly after the first sightings of the “wild pig” – I was worried about said pig.

I was worried each morning that he’d still be at the barn.

I really sort of wanted him to move along.

A few days ago – shortly after I officially changed his name to Wilbur Deatherage (officially adopting him) – I began to worry for a different reason.

I started worrying that he would NOT be at the barn!

Yes.  I’ve gotten pretty attached to the little stinker.

On Monday afternoon, I saw him part way up the driveway on my walk.

Then he didn’t come in with the horses for dinner.

I worried all night.

What if he’d gotten trapped somewhere?  Hurt?  Fallen down a well?!?

What if…someone thought he really WAS a wild pig and shot him and then realized their mistake – but not until after they’d fired up the smoker and started to baste…!?!?!?

WHAT.  IF.  HE.  HAS.  FOUND.  ANOTHER.  FAMILY?!?!

No lie, folks.  I am a champion worrier.

So – the next morning, I hurried to the barn and…no.  Wilbur.  To.  Be.  Seen. 🙁

I fed the horses.  I hollered PIG-PIG-PIIIIIG!

And then….

There was his little pig-schnoozle!

See?  I thought I was pig-whispering HIM.

In truth – I think HE’S people-whispering ME.

Little stinker.

  1. I love this kit too! Just my style and great colors!

Okay…hahahahaha! You know that pig has you all figured out already. Have to let you worry just a little just so that you know that he’s running the show and that he can come and go as he wishes…at least until he gets hungry and then he’ll be back. 😉

      Yep – I’m being pig-played! I’ve heard they’re awfully smart, so…makes sense! Thanks, Amy! 😉

  2. Jean Maas

love the paper pumpkin kit, will have to order that, maybe my lawyer, dr. and acct. would like to have some of those on hand. Sounds like a good idea eh?
Love the blog. Every time you speak of Wilbur, it reminds me of our life here with Wilbur. Could not manage without him.
    Thanks Mary.
    God bless

    • stampsnlingers

It’s a great kit! Thanks, Jean – I hope this current training period ends soon. I can’t take the stress! 🙂

  3. They are very smart and you know when they are hungry enough all animals come home.❤️

    • stampsnlingers

I’m counting on that – and on the kindness of humans to not do something to him when he’s gone walk-about! 🙂

  4. Susan K

I haven’t started on my PP this month but do like the colors. I know nothing about pigs but think the free, ready food will keep Wilbur around.

    • stampsnlingers

I sure hope so. WHY I hope so, I have no clue, but I do! Even Wayne – who keeps grumbling “I don’t WANT a pig!” was looking for him the other day! We’re pretty hopeless! Enjoy the Paper Pumpkin!! 🙂

  5. Odd how these critters get into our hearts. I felt the same way about the owl dad when I didn’t see him one morning, nor that evening. What a relief when he was there the next morning.
PP has become pretty great since the November one. Prior to that I wasn’t too impressed. May have to sign up for more if they are going to be this good.

    • stampsnlingers

I know – feel the same way about PP. I’m looking forward to what they’ve got in store for us in June! So glad that Dad came back. That would have been really awful! 🙁

  6. Beki Rich

We had a cat adopt us once, did walk-abouts, and shortly thereafter presented us with four kittens in the guestroom closet. We kept one and she is my husband’s sweetheart and an avid hunter, for which I am grateful.

    • stampsnlingers

Hmmm – well. I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen – just won’t let him in the guest room! 😉 Glad you got a nice kitty out of the deal, Beki – thanks! 🙂

  7. Ellie Peckler

Mary, leave it to you to add some woodsy-bling to enhance the PP card. Very nice! Your Wilbur story had me hanging by a snout, err, um, thread, until the happy ending. Have a great Hawwmp Day. – Ellie

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – if I can add a pine tree or two…I’m a-gonna do it! Thanks, Ellie – glad you enjoyed the tail-of-a-pig! 🙂

  8. Barbara Riefner

Glad you found Wilbur was OK and you could stop worrying. What are your plans for him? Just to keep feeding him when he shows up or is there something else in your plan?

    • stampsnlingers

Piggy plans….well. My thought is to get him tame enough to be friends with Finn and me and Wayne. He’s already won over the ponies. Probably open up one of my stalls for him to sleep in at night so he’ll be safe. Shavings. Water. Probably a fan for him. Pretty much the same we do for the horses. I’ll probably even give him the occasional peppermint…Should he choose to stick around, it’ll probably be the best decision of his piggy life! 🙂

  9. Kate

Like that grouping – are we surprised?
Tell you what…you let me know right away if Wilbur has kittens in the guest room -or anywhere else!
