Stampin’ Up! A Good Day for Delightful Daisy Treat Holder

Monday again, y’all!  Whoo-hoo?

No.

But – I had a good weekend and I hope that y’all did, too!

If you were able to join me last night for my FB live video, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but would like to see how I made these Spring-y little treat boxes, here’s the YouTube version!

I admit, I blatantly CASEd the heck out of this from Sam Hammond (aka Pootles) – she did a great video!  You can see her version right here!

For mine, I used the gorgeous Delightful Daisy DSP from our Annual Catalog, and paired it with a sweet little sentiment from the A Good Day stamp set, which is in the Occasions catalog!

These are uber-easy to make – and the only tools required are your Simply Scored and a couple of punches!  As you can see in the video, you just make four score lines.  Start by placing the “top” of your paper (if you are using paper that has an “up” and a “down”) at the top of the Simply Scored).

Turn it a quarter turn to the right and do the next two score lines.

Snip according to the video, and it’s ready to put together!

I used the A Good Day stamp set to make the sentiments.  I stamped the sentiment in Tranquil Tide or Night of Navy on Whisper White and punched them with the new 1 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch.  I colored in the little tear-drop shapes with my Stampin’ Write Markers, then I popped them onto 1 1/2″ Circle punch mats in either Daffodil Delight or Old Olive with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the matted sentiments to the front of each little box and punched 1/2″ holes in both sides for the ribbon.  I used Peekaboo Peach and Night of Navy 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, threading it thru the holes – you can see how on the video! – and tying it in a big bow.

To finish off, I added a Calypso Coral or Daffodil Delight heart Enamel Shape.

I made a whole slew of them in a couple hours – and (before doing up the ribbon) stuck in a little Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie and probably-too-many pieces of Easter candy.  They were for the ladies at our team meeting!

Et Voila! Super cute – super easy.  And they just need 6″ x 6″ of DSP!  If you’re having Easter dinner or another “event” – these would make really pretty favors – or place “cards”!  No one has to know how easy they are! Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Well – the Finn-ster and I had a great time yesterday at our team meeting!  I think I’ll just tell this one mostly in pictures…

While we held our business meeting and ate our lunch…

…Finn made the rounds.  He surprised a few ladies by popping up rather…unexpectedly…

When we got busy making a couple of crafts – one of which I do believe I’ll share with you next Sunday… Finn (recognizing card-making just like at home) assumed the position.

Finally, though, the effort of making all those ladies happy and letting them all pet him and politely requesting bites of whatever they were eating – just took it’s toll.

Being the semi-un-official Krew mascot (for both the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew AND Critters-N-Creatin Krew!) is hard work, y’all!! 🙂

  1. What cute little gifts. I was going to make more of those little cube boxes for Easter, but may do these instead. Wish I could have been there to give Finn a pet, too. Looks lke a great day!

    • These would be really fun as place-settings! Or just little tiny Easter baskets! Thanks much – and hope we get to have you in person one day soon! 🙂

  2. I am going to try these…so pretty…and you do make it look easy. Thanks for the template. I love Amy’s meetings, although I can’t always hear/understand what others are saying. It was great seeing Finn and the pics you shared are so cute.

    • Yep – video meetings are kind of tough, for sure! 🙁 We have a great time – maybe one day you’ll be able to join us in person! These little boxes ARE easy, so do give them a try. Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Susan K

Enjoyed the Live event and love the cute box idea. Those bows make fabulous “toppers.” Fun pics of Finn.

  4. Cute treat holders! So glad that I got one of my own. 🙂 Thanks for the video last night, glad that I got to give Finn a few pets yesterday and that he graciously helped to clean up the floor after lunch. 😉

    • He IS a giver! Thanks, Amy – it was another fun day! Looking forward to hanging at OnStage in just a couple of weeks! 🙂

  5. Kate

Hmmm. You may have lured me into box making.
The paw tuck is quite the Finn signature. Most endearing.

    • Yep – he does it a lot!! And it’s pretty durned cute. Which I suspect he’s fully aware of… 🙂 Do make some boxes! They’d be great for your RedHat!! 🙂 Thanks, Mom! 🙂

Wonderful video – I watched it after the fact. Sweet little basket with a great closure! I need some quick thank you gifts for my ladies – this will fit the bill! Thank you! Finn is just too cute! Poking his nose up like that must have been quite surprising😂
