Stampin’ Up! Feeling of Christmas Cheer

Good Monday, y’all!  Man, was it hard to come back out here yesterday!  Good thing I’d left all my stamping things out at the hotel – if I’d only left clothes…might have sacrificed them and just gone home! 🙂  But, on a brighter note – this is the last Monday post that will come from Utah!  This time next week – I’ll be back where I belong with Wayne and Finn and the kitties and ponies!  Whoo-hoo!

You guys – I’m so sorry about last night!! 🙁  Apparently the cable company is doing some work on the fibers and cables that provide internet service out here.  I’d had good internet all afternoon.  Then when I went to try getting set up for the video….nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.  Went to the front desk and was told about this maintenance going on.  Looks like things could be spotty thru the end of the day on Wednesday.  So – I’m going to do my best to have posts uploaded and working, but…I’ll have to ask for your patience, please.  This one’s totally beyond my control.  Grrrr. 🙁

Assuming I CAN get internet, then this afternoon I’ll be doing a special post with some sneak peeks from the new 2018 Occasions catalog – I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to see that one!  Y’all keep your fingers crossed, okay?!?  But – read down for a SPECIAL announcement!!  You’ll be happy you did!!

I used some of the pretty (and shiny!!) paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and married it up with the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The card started with the Year of Cheer DSP, cut to the full size of the front of the Garden Green card base and adhered with Liquid Glue.  I added a second piece to the inside of the card while I was at it! 🙂

The sentiment layer is just a piece of Whisper White – I stamped the wreath image from Feeling of Christmas in Versamark and heat embossed it in Gold.  I edged the panel with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend and then matted it on a piece of Champagne Foil.

I used my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the ribbon.  The leaves were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Garden Green.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added the Feeling of Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler in the middle of the wreath.  Then I popped the whole thing on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a bunch of small and larger snowflakes using the dies from the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits in Gold and Silver Foil – I adhered them together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added some gold Metallic Enamel Shapes to the wreath and silver ones on the snowflakes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Feeling of Christmas in Cherry Cobbler on a Whisper White panel.

I matted the panel on Champagne Foil and Fast Fuse’d it onto my already-decorated inside of the card, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two of the swag images from Feeling of Christmas heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the front.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the leaves…

…and then I added some more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy, shiny and beautiful – all with some Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and the lovely images and sentiments from the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Hope you like! 🙂

  1. What a beautiful card! Bummer on the internet access, hopefully it will be restored soon! We’ll catch your video next time around. 🙂

  2. Kate

Sorry no one got to see you create this pretty card! The perversity of inanimate objects continues to plague our best laid plans.

    .

  3. Brooke Berger

SU is a little late to the party (I love my Misti) but the hinged plates and long magnets are good ideas and the price point is excellent.

    • Yes, a little. But – I think it was worth the time they’ve taken – cuz what they (and all the demonstrators who helped create it!) came up with a wonderful tool! The “hinge step” is really cool!! Thanks, Brooke! 🙂

  4. Kathy L

Really sorry not to have seen your video last night, but glad to know all is ok with you. The card is beautiful, delicate, and shiny! What more could you want? And my guess on the new tool was more or less right.

    • LOL – I had a feeling you’d guessed the big surprise! But – I hope that the reality exceeded your expectation – it certainly did mine! I can’t wait to be able to order it! Thanks so much, Kathy – glad that you liked my card! 🙂

  5. Oh, Mary! THis card is stupendous! Dare I say it is your best one yet? I don’t know that I dare, as you have done SO many beauties, but this certainly rises to the top.
I asked Amy and I will ask you….how is it you found out about the tool (Stamparatus is TOO long to type and anyway, I don’t even know how to spell it!) and I didn’t? Only certain levels got the info? Or did you have to log into the company site to get it? Just wondering.

    • Oh, thank you, Julie! That’s very sweet! SU! posted an update this morning – and Amy sent us an e-mail. You may have been on the train!! 🙂

  6. Absolutely beautiful card, Mary! Hope things are going better today with your internet. I have that all of the time and it drives me crazy!! The countdown is on, yippee!!

    • Yes – it’s incredibly frustrating! Our lives flat revolve around the internet these days!! – so when it’s not working…grrrrr! But soon. Soon I’ll be back to the land of solid internet! Thanks so much, Jari! 🙂

  7. Oh Boo on the internet connection. That is so frustrating. On the bright side your card is beautiful and you will soon get to go home!! =)

  8. Nena

I love this wreath card, Mary! Just got my set out tonight to work on tomorrow – this will give me some great “get started” ideas!
