Stampin’ Up! Season of Whimsy & Pines for the Stamp Ink Paper #129

Hey, y’all!  Welcome to Tuesday and another fun challenge from Stamp Ink Paper!

Our Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #129 this week is a color challenge…

I pulled out the fun Host set called Season of Whimsy from the 2017 Holiday Catalog for this one and added some pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

This card also played along quite nicely with the FabFriday challenge this week.

I started this one with a piece of gold plaid paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP matted on Cherry Cobbler card stock for the card front.  Then I cut a piece of Wood Textures DSP, matted it on Cherry Cobbler and Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the sentiment from the Season of Whimsy set in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

On a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock, I stamped the three Season of Whimsy ornaments in Versamark and heat embossed them in Gold.  Then I colored each of them with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker and fussy cut them.

I cut a bunch of Pretty Pines Thinlits pine boughs in Lemon Lime Twist and Garden Green, and a couple of Cherry Cobbler berries, too!

I built my little “scene” by adhering the pine boughs with Liquid Glue and interspersing the Season of Whimsy ornaments amongst them.  I used a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the final largest ornament.

I tied a small bow from a piece of Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  To finish things off, I added a few gold Metallic Enamel Shapes!

On the inside, I left the liner blank, simply repeating the layers on the front of the card.  I matted a piece of Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on Cherry Cobbler and, over that, Fast Fuse’d a Cherry Cobbler matted piece of Whisper White.

I Fast Fuse’d the layered panels into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Gold embossed ornament from Season of Whimsy on the front – colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker…

…and a little more of the Wood Textures DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  A couple of greens and some Cherry Cobbler to make a wonderful Pretty Pine-filled display of Christmas ornaments courtesy of the Season of Whimsy stamp set!  I hope you like!

Season of Whimsy is on the retiring list – so, if you love it (and why wouldn’t you??) – now’s the time to get it.  Holler at me and ask me how! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

So – one of the fun things that happened to the Man this past weekend was meeting Lucky.

Lucky lives there in North Carolina.

Lucky and Finn hit it off immediately!  Of course, Lucky may have wished Finn had a smidge less energy – he was a bit worn out by the time the play date ended.

Hard to imagine….

really…

…airs above the ground…

This kind of play takes a toll, people.  Even on a youngster Aussie!

He said a fond adieu to Lucky and I think they made tentative plans for a re-match in the near future!  And then he climbed in the truck to recuperate!

Stampin’ Up! Tags & Trimmings for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop!

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month is Christmas or Happy Holidays!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I decided to make a treat holder using the fun Tags & Trimmings bundle.  Take a look-see:

This is such an easy little treat holder to make, y’all!  Hang on!

To start with, I cut the two main pieces of the stocking in the Trim Your Stocking Thinlit set in Powder Pink.  When you make this, you can cut a piece of card stock about 6″ x 6 3/4″ and both of the dies will fit on it and you’ll be able to get it thru the Big Shot!

I used the coordinating dies in the set to cut the top, heel and toe of the stocking from the pretty Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  And some “pom-pom trim” from a scrap of Whisper White card stock.

I inked up the sentiment from the Tags & Trimmings stamp set in Versamark and stamped it on the front of the stocking.  Then I heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

When you make one, add the decorations before you assemble the stocking.  I used Liquid Glue to add all the little pieces and parts.  I cut two of the large and lovely snowflakes from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits – one each in Silver and Gold Foil.  I also stamped one of the little buttons – in Versamark – on a piece of scrap Powder Pink, heat embossed it in Silver and cut it with the matching die.  I piled them all up with Liquid Glue and added them at the top of the stocking.

To assemble the stocking, I used Tear & Tape Adhesive on the scored tabs (the dies do the scoring for you).  If you’d like a good tutorial on how to put this baby together, you can check out Amy Koender’s video right here!  I used silver Mini Tinsel Trim for the top “hangar”.

The final touch is a bow made with two lengths each of Silver and Gold Metallic Thread, adhered with a little scrunched up Glue Dot.

Et Voila!  This little Tags & Trimmings treat holder is just the perfect size for a taste of chocolate, a gift card or a nice folded show-me-the-money gift. Snap it up and decorate or gift-give with it!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the products you’ll need to make this one for yourself.

Now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Click any name below, or you can use the Previous Blog button to jump to Julie’s page or the Next Blog button to see what Sue’s been doing!

Stampin’ Up! Feeling of Christmas Cheer

Good Monday, y’all!  Man, was it hard to come back out here yesterday!  Good thing I’d left all my stamping things out at the hotel – if I’d only left clothes…might have sacrificed them and just gone home! 🙂  But, on a brighter note – this is the last Monday post that will come from Utah!  This time next week – I’ll be back where I belong with Wayne and Finn and the kitties and ponies!  Whoo-hoo!

You guys – I’m so sorry about last night!! 🙁  Apparently the cable company is doing some work on the fibers and cables that provide internet service out here.  I’d had good internet all afternoon.  Then when I went to try getting set up for the video….nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.  Went to the front desk and was told about this maintenance going on.  Looks like things could be spotty thru the end of the day on Wednesday.  So – I’m going to do my best to have posts uploaded and working, but…I’ll have to ask for your patience, please.  This one’s totally beyond my control.  Grrrr. 🙁

Assuming I CAN get internet, then this afternoon I’ll be doing a special post with some sneak peeks from the new 2018 Occasions catalog – I’m pretty sure you’re going to want to see that one!  Y’all keep your fingers crossed, okay?!?  But – read down for a SPECIAL announcement!!  You’ll be happy you did!!

I used some of the pretty (and shiny!!) paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and married it up with the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The card started with the Year of Cheer DSP, cut to the full size of the front of the Garden Green card base and adhered with Liquid Glue.  I added a second piece to the inside of the card while I was at it! 🙂

The sentiment layer is just a piece of Whisper White – I stamped the wreath image from Feeling of Christmas in Versamark and heat embossed it in Gold.  I edged the panel with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend and then matted it on a piece of Champagne Foil.

I used my Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends to color the ribbon.  The leaves were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Garden Green.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added the Feeling of Christmas sentiment in Cherry Cobbler in the middle of the wreath.  Then I popped the whole thing on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a bunch of small and larger snowflakes using the dies from the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits in Gold and Silver Foil – I adhered them together and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I added some gold Metallic Enamel Shapes to the wreath and silver ones on the snowflakes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Feeling of Christmas in Cherry Cobbler on a Whisper White panel.

I matted the panel on Champagne Foil and Fast Fuse’d it onto my already-decorated inside of the card, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got two of the swag images from Feeling of Christmas heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the front.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the leaves…

…and then I added some more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy, shiny and beautiful – all with some Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and the lovely images and sentiments from the Feeling of Christmas stamp set.  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Cheery Merry Little Labels for the Stamp Ink Paper #124

So – good mornin’, y’all!  It’s Tuesday – almost the last Tuesday I’ll be in Utah.  I’ll actually admit that I’ll miss it here a little – the scenery is ridiculously gorgeous – especially when there’s some weather around!  I’m betting in the middle of July it might not be so appealing to me…

I had a happy little surprise the other day – the nice folks at Stamp Ink Paper asked me to stay on as a permanent member of their Design Team!  Sending them a big Thank You!

Our Challenge #124 this week is a theme – Girl’s Night Out!

Since I don’t have a hang-around-the-house-watching-a-movie-and-making-s’mores-and-falling-asleep-at-8 stamp set, I had to channel some more adventurous friends!  So, I used the Merry Little Labels stamp set and some fun paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

See?  It’s “girl’s” cuz of the pink.

Don’t judge – it was all I could come up with.

I’m a pretty boring person, y’all.  Sorry to have to break it to you!! 🙂

I started by Fast Fusing the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to a Powder Pink mat for the card front.

Next, I used Glue Dots to adhere a length of Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon to the card front in an oh-so-artsy manner.  Over that, with some Liquid Glue, I adhered a silver Foil Snowflake.

I inked up the Merry Little Labels sentiment in Versamark and stamped it on a piece of Powder Pink card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool.  I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die and popped it over the snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a single Black Rhinestone Jewel and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I matted a Whisper White panel on a Powder Pink mat and added a thin strip of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, also matted on Powder Pink, across the bottom.  I wrapped a length of the Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I made a little “faux bow” with another short length of the ribbon.

.I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Powder Pink mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple of strips of Washi Tape across the front – two silver strips from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape and one black-and-white strip from the Pick A Pattern Washi.  I colored the little tiny white lines with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker…

..and I added more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’m not a big drinker, but I’m certainly a big eater!!  And if staying in with the girls and watching a movie isn’t on the agenda – then going out for a good meal surely would be!  I think the Merry Little Labels captured it pretty well – and the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP certainly looks like a good time is being had.  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Cheery Merry Patterns for the Stamp Ink Paper #123

Good morning!  Welcome to another Tuesday in October – oh my goodness – the last Tuesday in October!  Can’t believe it’s flown by so quickly  – thank you to the folks at Stamp Ink Paper for letting me be a Guest Designer with them this month!!

Our last challenge of the month is a sketch challenge to work with this week – and you can play with it, too! 🙂  Check out this fun sketch, Challenge #123, from Dena.

Now – being that it’s Halloween (!!) I decided to really get with the program and do a Christmas card!  I wanted to give you one last look at the wonderful – and almost gone!! – Merry Patterns stamp set.  Which I paired with some shiny Foil papers and Year of Cheer Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed it in the Winter Wonder TIEF, then matted it on a piece of Copper Foil for the card front.  The next layer is some gold paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, matted on Copper Foil and adhered with Fast Fuse.

Using the two largest circle dies from the Layering Circles Framelits,  I cut circular frames from Copper, Champagne and Silver Foil Sheets.  Then I used some Liquid Glue to “tack” them together in a wreath (of sorts!!) and adhered them to the DSP panel.

For the sentiment, I cut a small rectangle of Whisper White and heat embossed the Merry Patterns candles onto it – I used Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the outline of the candles.  Then I filled them in with Silver and Gold embossing.  The little sentiment, from Merry Patterns, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the bottom of the panel.  I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge the sentiment and popped it on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My decorations are from an eclectic group of die sets…  There’s a Gold Glimmer Paper swirly-do from the Swirly Snowflakes, adhered with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I cut a couple of the little branches from the Lantern Builder Framelits – one in Silver and one in Copper Foil – and adhered them on with more Liquid Glue.  Finally, I cut two of the bows – one large and one small – from the Pretty Pines Thinlits in Cherry Cobbler.  I adhered the smaller one on top of the large bow and then to the card front.  To top it all off, I added a silver Metallic Enamel Shape.

On the inside, I went old-school. I just cut a narrow strip of the same Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and matted it on Copper Foil.  Then I adhered it at the bottom of a Whisper White panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel onto a Copper Foil mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a few strips of Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape across the front…

…and a little more of the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A white and mixed-metals Christmas card with just some pops of Cherry Cobbler!  I’ve loved the candles in Red and Green, in Blue and Green – and now, all shiny and gorgeous in Silver and Gold!  I hope you like!

This is the very last day to qualify for the Merry Patterns stamp set!  Scroll on down to see what you need to do.  While you’re at it – make one last swing thru the DSP sale (buy-three-get-one-free!) and get yourself stocked up!! 🙂  Two good things going away on the same day….tsk tsk.  Don’t miss out!!

Stampin’ Up! Mixed Metals Cheers to the Year

Happy weekend, y’all!  Hope that the clean up is making a dent – the power (and air conditioning!!) are back – and that life is beginning the slow slog back towards normal for everyone!  I know you’ve got a long row to hoe ahead.

Wayne has started the fence repairing and tree removing.  Not a lot of damage – but enough that there’s going to be work.

Finn is trying to help.  More on that below!

So – if y’all know me at all, you know that Clean-and-Simple isn’t really my first choice in card design.  It’s hard for me, so…I don’t do a lot of CAS cards.  But for today, I wanted to play with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, so I gave it a whirl.  I made my CAS-try with the new Cheers to the Year stamp set and some mixed metal embellishments (but not a lot of them, cuz…CAS!!).  Take a look-see:

And the aforementioned FMS challenge is what lead me to the layout.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock for the card front.  I took the two snowflake images from the Cheers to the Year stamp set and placed both of them on an acrylic block, then inked them in Versamark.  I stamped the snowflake duo all over the card front, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated them up.  Then I matted the panel on a piece of Champagne Foil.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a Gold Foil Snowflake to the card front.  Then I cut a strip of paper from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and one from Champagne Foil and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  The middle – and longest – strip, is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I wrapped with one of the Year of Cheer Designer Washi Tape designs.  Then I popped that over the other two strips with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I first stamped the circle shape from Cheers to the Year in Versamark on Whisper White and heat embossed it in Copper.  I added the sentiment – using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig – to the middle of the circle in Versamark and then heat embossed it with my DIY “champagne” embossing powder (one part silver to one part gold, mixed).  Then I cut it out with a Circles Layering Framelits die and popped it on with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals and some Liquid Glue.

The finishing touch is a silver Year of Cheer Embellishment, tucked under the sentiment with a Glue Dot!

On the inside, I used  my DIY “champagne” embossing powder to heat emboss the second sentiment from Cheers to the Year on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added another couple of snowflakes, heat embossed in White (in the bottom right corner – incredibly hard to see.  Sorry! 🙁 ).

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Champagne Foil mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another pair of Cheers to the Year embossed snowflakes on the front…

…and some Year of Cheer Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Although CAS isn’t usually my cup of tea – I really like how this turned out!  Cheers to the Year gives you Christmas sentiments as well as more year-round sentiments useful for weddings or anniversaries.  And there’s even a New Year’s greeting!  So…very versatile!  And we have such beautiful metals to work with!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Cheer and Snowflakes Video Sneak Peek

‘Sup, y’all!?  Having a good weekend?  Hope so! 🙂

Today’s our big All Things Stamping Sale – so you know where I’ll be!  We actually slogged our way thru a truly ginormous amount of NON-Stampin’ Up! things – stamp sets, inks, dies, papers, embellishment upon embellishment!  I could trace my progress thru this addictive hobby of ours…Tim Holtz, some Martha Stewart, lots of Ranger….yikes!  I hope it all sells – cuz I do not want to bring it all back!

And, obviously, I’ve got a few (does 7 count as a “few”?!?) boxes of Stampin’ Up! stamps, dies, bundles, punches, papers, card stock, ribbons and embellishments going, too.  Which means I’m in for a few (I know a dozen does not count as a few…) trips from the van to the clubhouse where we’re setting up!

Wish me luck! 🙂

As you’ve come to expect, today I’ll be giving you a cleverly cropped and twisted picture as a sneak peek into tonight’s video (which I have every intention of doing – so keep your fingers crossed that I get home and ready in time!!).  I’m using a few (not even gonna count them!) new goodies from the Holiday Catalog.  Year of Cheer and some Snowflake Sentiments will play a big role!  Here’s a look at the sneaky-peek:

So – keep your fingers crossed that I sell everything today – and am still conscious at 8pm Eastern tonight.  Where I hope I’ll see you over on my Stamps-N-Lingers Facebook page! Continue reading
