Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Spooky Cat Punch Halloween

‘Sup, y’all!?  Happy Monday!

Sorry for the oxymoron.

Yesterday was a good day helping Mat and Chris and Courtney get moved into their new home.  Always good to have the ‘rents come and help put things together.  My Finn Fan Fix will share more.

If you were able to join me last night for my FB Live video – thanks so much for taking time out of your weekend and spending a little of it with me!   If not, here’s a link to the video on YouTube!

This is my first straight up Halloween card of the year – I don’t make a ton of Halloween cards, cuz I’m usually too enamored with Fall and Thanksgiving and Christmas.  But I do make a few – and it’s even easier when SU provides us with super cute Halloween-y sets like the Spooky Cat and matching Cat Punch. And if you add in some Spooky Night DSP – well. Take a look-see:

This card uses both the color scheme and the layout from the latest Fusion challenge.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make!

I started with a couple of fun Halloween patterns from the Spooky Night DSP and matted them both on Pumpkin Pie card stock.

The cat himself is layered over a square of Pumpkin Pie card stock that I embossed in the Woodland TIEF and then cut with a square Stitched Shapes Framelit die.  Next is a circle of Very Vanilla – the moon – cut with a Circles Layering Framelits die!

I cut the cat with the Cat Punch from a piece of the Spooky Night DSP.  How cool is that?

Using the branch die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, I cut a Basic Black branch and adhered it to the bottom of my cat with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I stuck it all on the moon panel.

My sentiment – which is from the Spooky Cat stamp set – is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black. I did each word separately and then fussy cut the little rectangles.  I added some faux stitches with a White Gel Pen.

Using Liquid Glue, I added each sentiment word to the card.

I tied a bow with a strand of Very Vanilla and Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twines and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  The final touch is the addition of three Black Rhinestone Jewels.

On the inside, I stamped a bunch of the little owl eyes in Pumpkin Pie and the cat faces in Basic Black Memento Ink.  I stamped them a lot on a Very Vanilla panel – cuz I really really like them!

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

The front of my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Spooky Cat owl eyes and cat faces across the front…

…and another piece of Spooky Night DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This set had me with the Cat Punch, y’all.  I love it!  And the fun Spooky Cat stamp set that goes along with it, plus the Spooky Night DSP – which coordinated perfectly – really makes it a must have for the upcoming Fall and Halloween seasons!  And that cat punch will be good for occasions throughout the year.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

Finn-Chewie spent the day in the kennel.  Watching the Comedy Channel – all fun movies, all the time.  With the fan on him.

We arrived home – all worried about him being there so long.

I hurried into the bedroom, to find him stretching luxuriously, yawning and shaking his head.

He’d had a horrible horrible day. 🙂

So I let him lick my yoghurt container…

While he was sleeping in cool comfort, we were helping the guys put up their television on the wall.

IMG_4339

Probably good that Wayne was there helping. 😉

We had some help from father and son, Luke (on the left) and Jax…

…and they later gave their paw of approval on the new living room arrangement and area rug.

Next time, Finn gets to go!  And play and play and play!

He might wish he’d gotten to stay home again in the air conditioning! 🙂

Cute card and it seemed to come together quickly with that super paper. Enjoyed seeing it live and thanks for the cuts today. Finn says everyone needs a leisurely day sometimes!

  8. As a fan of Halloween themed cards (not creepy ones, though), yours is absolutely spook-tacular! The papers you’ve paired create a most marvelous stage for your star-of-the show black cat. So thrilled you shared this gem in the FUSION gallery!
