Stampin’ Up! Christmas Happiness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Take a look at our sketch:

I used my fave stamp set from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog – Christmas Happiness – and added some Merry Music Specialty DSP (also in the new catty).  I also made some boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits, so…take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the new Merry Music Specialty DSP – but…it’s in black and white (which is cool – but not what I wanted for this particular card…) and I sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to vintage-ize it a little.  Then I matted it on Garden Green card stock.

The middle layer is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped with the new Sheet Music background stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I tore it down to the size I wanted, sponged it with Crumb Cake and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Pretty Pines Thinlits, I cut a bunch of pine boughs from Garden Green, Always Artichoke and Copper Foil.  I cut each one – so I had a top and a bottom.  When I did my first dry-fit, here’s what it looked like.

I used a few Glue Dots across the card front and wound a length of Linen Thread and one of Copper Metallic Thread around in several loops, then I adhered my pine tops and bottoms randomly across the top and bottom of the panel.

For the center sentiment panel, I took the large pine bough image from Christmas Happiness and stamped it a few times in Always Artichoke on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the first sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and cut it with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle.   It’s matted on Garden Green – cut with a Layering Circles Framelits die.

I popped the stamped panel over the card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added the sentiment circle with more Dimensionals.  I made a “mat” with some of the new Jute Twine – wrapping two pieces around and securing then in the back with scotch tape.

I stamped some pine cones from Christmas Happiness – in Early Espresso for the outline image and Soft Suede for the fill, then I fussy them, and adhered them with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Linen Thread, I tied a “Billie Moan bow” and secured it with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Christmas Happiness pine bough in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  I stamped it off twice on scrap paper before stamping my panel.  Over that, I added a second sentiment in Early Espresso.

I matted the panel on Garden Green and then into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Christmas Happiness pine cone (Early Espresso and Soft Suede) and some boughs (Always Artichoke) on the front…

…and I added more pine boughs on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pines.  Pine Cones.  Music.  Vintage.  Yep – pretty much right smack in my sweet spot!  I hope like – and that you’ve got the Christmas Happiness set right at the top of your Wish List!  And don’t forget the Merry Music Specialty DSP! 🙂
