Stampin’ Up! Musical Good Tidings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! It’s color week here on the Hop – and these are wonderful colors together!  Be sure to check out all the ladies’ projects when you get done here!

This really is one of my very favorite color combinations!

I decided to go straight up Christmas – didja doubt it??  To that end – I used the lovely Good Tidings stamp set and my fave Merry Music Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

I also borrowed a layout from this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge!

It’s there – turn your head on your side and you’ll see it! 😉

And the Christmas theme works perfectly with this week’s Global Design Project challenge!

I started with a piece of the Merry Music Specialty DSP and cut a large oval from the middle with a Stitched Shapes Framelits die.

Now – upon further reflection – if you make this card, please stamp your sentiment and holly first and then cut the oval.  It will be ever so much easier for you!

Duh.  What a goof, Mary!

It still worked out even though I did things bass-ackwards!

First I stamped the big and beautiful sentiment from the Good Tidings stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink in the oval – cheating towards the bottom right…

For the holly – I used Old Olive and Basic Black.  I stamped the first image – and I stamped it a couple of times to really get a dark leaf – in  Old Olive.  I stamped the second image (the detailed leaf) in the Basic Black Archival Ink.  I used Cherry Cobbler and stamped both of the berry images.

I matted the oval on a Cherry Cobbler scalloped oval and Fast Fuse’d the card front to its own Cherry Cobbler mat.  I adhered a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with scotch tape and used a short length of the Shimmer Ribbon to tie a faux bow.  Then I used Liquid Glue to add the matted sentiment over the top – being sure to get the music all lined up!

I stamped another large holly sprig and one of the smaller sprigs on some Whisper White card stock and fussy cut it.  Then I popped them over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the fussy cut leaves to add a little shimmer.  Then I made some berries by coloring Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Marker!  When I added them to the holly, the card front was done! 🙂

On the inside Whisper White panel, I added more Old Olive and Basic Black holly sprigs from Good Tidings (brushing them with Clear Wink) and a second sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink.  Then I matted the panel on Cherry Cobbler and repeated my Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon treatment.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Good Tidings holly sprig on the front…

…and some more of the Merry Music Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How pretty is that color combination, y’all!?!  And when used with the beautiful Good Tidings stamp set and some Merry Music Specialty DSP – instant Christmas glam!!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Dapper Musical Season

Well, y’all – here we are again at Friday!  And – I want to let you know that you guys have helped me reach one of my year-end goals with Stampin’ Up!  Thank you so much!! I surely do appreciate all y’all helping and supporting my business!  I very cavalierly rewarded myself – I went smack out to the Delta website and helped myself to a First Class upgrade!

Both ways!! Which means- two free bags.  Seventy pounds each.

Which means – I can also take clothes with me!! 😉

Now – late breaking news (I even delayed this post a tad to tell you!)!  Overnight – the $1000 mark was reached on the Super Workshop!!  Whooo-hoooo, you guys!!  Thank you all so much!!  Sheila Larson will be receiving all the great thank you gifts!!  I’ve changed the Host Code, now, to one that y’all can use for a couple of weeks.

So – to the business at hand! At our meeting on Sunday, Ms. Amy gave away goodies (she always does!!).  And I picked the new Musical Season stamp set and the bundled Musical Instruments Framelits.  Which means I’ve been sort of itching to use it – which I did.  Today.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes courtesy of The Paper Players sketch challenge this week.

I started with the pretty script paper from the Merry Music Specialty DSP and matted it on some Silver Foil for the card front.  The middle panel is a different design in the Merry Music Specialty DSP, also matted on Silver Foil and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then I wrapped a piece of Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around both panels, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

I didn’t do anything to the middle piece of Whisper White, except to mat it on Silver Foil and pop it over the other elements with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I stamped the guitar (could it be a sitar?!?) – in Dapper Denim on a piece of Whisper White and cut it with it’s matching Musical Instruments Framelits die.  I popped it over the center panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Musical Season sentiment in Dapper Denim on a strip of Whisper White.  I snipped banners in the end with my Paper Snips, edged the banner with my Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered it with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals (on the end).  A few silver heart Metallic Enamel Shapes finished off the card front.

On the inside, I inked the guitar/sitar again with Dapper Denim, stamped it off three times and then stamped it in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  When it was completely dry, I rubbed it with my Embossing Buddy and then heat embossed the second sentiment from Musical Season in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Silver Foil mat and into my Dapper Denim card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a full-strength Dapper Denim guitar/sitar on the front…

…and a little more of the Merry Music Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I like the black/silver/blue color scheme, don’t you?  And this Musical Season bundle is very sweet – and melds perfectly with the Merry Music Specialty DSP.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

A couple years back, my Mom gave us a red collar that lights up in the dark.

Well – it lights up in the day, too, but…

Anywho – we had Buck then, and he was always on the leash, so we could always tell where he was.

At the end of the leash.  Hello?  Try to keep up!

Well, Finn isn’t always on the leash.  And now that it’s starting to be dark when we finish up the horses at night, we’ve started putting it on him.

We call him “Glow Worm”.

There.  See him?

Stampin’ Up! Delightfully Musical Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s color challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

This one was kind of tough.

I decided to also play along with the clean-and-simple sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch.

To make my clean-and-simple card, using a tough color scheme, I used some Merry Music Specialty DSP from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog along with the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch.  Take a look-see:

I started with a simple Whisper White panel and used my Simply Scored Board to make horizontal and vertical score lines.  I flipped the panel over a couple of times while making my score lines – so some are raised and some are indented.  Then I matted it on a piece of Basic Black card stock.

I made the flower by punching three daisies with the Daisy Punch from the Merry Music Specialty DSP.  Each petal was sponged lightly with Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I used the new Leaf Punch – in the 2017 Holiday Catalog – to punch three sets of leaves, also from Merry Music paper.  Those I sponged with Emerald Envy.

I lightly curled the petals of the flowers and then stacked and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  I laid everything in place on the card front and stamped my sentiment from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  You might recall – long ago, I cut the Thank You sentiment stamp in my Daisy Delight stamp set in half – that let me easily stamp it as a stacked sentiment instead on a single line.  I brushed the words with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!

I adhered the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue, then used a few Glue Dots to adhere a length of Black Mini Sequin Trim.  Over the top of all that, I used another Glue Dot to adhere the Daisy to the card front.

I added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the flower, and a few Black Rhinestone Jewels (Holiday Catalog) to the card front and that was it.

For the inside of my card, I took a Whisper White panel and cut a flower in the bottom corner with the Daisy Punch.  Using my Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker, I edged the petals.  Behind the opening, I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a square of Merry Music Specialty DSP.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Daisy Delight flower on the front.  I stamped the image three times – in stamped-off-once Flirty Flamingo – rotating the stamp slightly for each stamp.  Then I made a little mask with more punched daisies…

…and laid that over the flower.  Then I used a piece of card stock – with the Leaf Punch punched out as a stencil – and sponged some leaves in Emerald Envy…

…then I added some more Merry Music Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this card shows that even things that are “Christmas” (Merry Music DSP) or “Halloween/Fall” (Black Rhinestones) can be combined in so many ways to create whatever you can imagine!  Of course, the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy Punch are favorites of most of us and I love how the elements all came together!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Happiness for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster for today’s sketch challenge, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

Take a look at our sketch:

I used my fave stamp set from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog – Christmas Happiness – and added some Merry Music Specialty DSP (also in the new catty).  I also made some boughs with the Pretty Pines Thinlits, so…take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the new Merry Music Specialty DSP – but…it’s in black and white (which is cool – but not what I wanted for this particular card…) and I sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to vintage-ize it a little.  Then I matted it on Garden Green card stock.

The middle layer is a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped with the new Sheet Music background stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I tore it down to the size I wanted, sponged it with Crumb Cake and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Pretty Pines Thinlits, I cut a bunch of pine boughs from Garden Green, Always Artichoke and Copper Foil.  I cut each one – so I had a top and a bottom.  When I did my first dry-fit, here’s what it looked like.

I used a few Glue Dots across the card front and wound a length of Linen Thread and one of Copper Metallic Thread around in several loops, then I adhered my pine tops and bottoms randomly across the top and bottom of the panel.

For the center sentiment panel, I took the large pine bough image from Christmas Happiness and stamped it a few times in Always Artichoke on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the first sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and cut it with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle.   It’s matted on Garden Green – cut with a Layering Circles Framelits die.

I popped the stamped panel over the card front with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added the sentiment circle with more Dimensionals.  I made a “mat” with some of the new Jute Twine – wrapping two pieces around and securing then in the back with scotch tape.

I stamped some pine cones from Christmas Happiness – in Early Espresso for the outline image and Soft Suede for the fill, then I fussy them, and adhered them with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Linen Thread, I tied a “Billie Moan bow” and secured it with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Christmas Happiness pine bough in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  I stamped it off twice on scrap paper before stamping my panel.  Over that, I added a second sentiment in Early Espresso.

I matted the panel on Garden Green and then into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Christmas Happiness pine cone (Early Espresso and Soft Suede) and some boughs (Always Artichoke) on the front…

…and I added more pine boughs on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pines.  Pine Cones.  Music.  Vintage.  Yep – pretty much right smack in my sweet spot!  I hope like – and that you’ve got the Christmas Happiness set right at the top of your Wish List!  And don’t forget the Merry Music Specialty DSP! 🙂
