This card technique has been seen a lot on Pinterest these days, but the card I saw that really struck me and inspired this one is from Flutterbyheidi! Check out her card right here!
I used the Daisy Delight stamp set and matching Daisy Punch to make this one. And a little bit of Wood Textures DSP. Take a look-see:
Oh wait – yes, that’s quite pretty, no doubt. But here’s the fun part!
Cool, huh?
So – the video shows all the how-to’s and where for’s. But, basically, you start with an 8″ x 8″ piece of card stock and then do some scoring and a little folding. Cut out a corner and then, with a little Tear and Tape, you end up with a square, corner pop-up card to decorate!
Now – I’d seen a card quite similar to this out on Pinterest, so I decided to try it for myself. I used the light whitewashed design in the Wood Textures DSP on three panels – all matted on Cajun Craze.
I cut a hole in the front panel, added a sentiment from Daisy Delight in Cajun Craze ink and then added a scalloped-edge circle frame in Cajun Craze. That’s made by cutting a scallop circle with a Circles Layering Framelit and then cutting the next size smaller straight side circle out of that. Then I just adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
The Daisy Delight daisy is stamped in Crushed Curry three times on Whisper White and punched with the matching Daisy Punch. I used my Clear Wink of Stella to pull some color into all the petals and then lightly curled them with a Bone Folder. I stacked them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals between them and adhered it to the card inside panel with a little smear of Fast Fuse.
The sentiment on the inside is from Daisy Delight, stamped in Cajun Craze – I’ve cut my Thank You image in half so that I can get the stacked words! I also stamped some Old Olive stems and Crushed Curry flowers.
I decorated my Whisper White Medium Envelope with more flowers from the Daisy Delight stamp set on the front…
…and I added another piece of the white-washed Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap and stamped it all over with Crushed Curry daisies!
Et Voila! This isn’t a hard fold to do – just take your time. Watch the video – and I highly recommend that you make a template to help you keep the folds and cuts straight. Or…diagonal…as the case may be! I love this one with the Daisy Delight stamp set and punch – but what other sets can you think of that would work with this kind of fold? Anywho – hope you like! 🙂

Well. He’s gotten a bit obsessive….nay, compulsive!…about it!
He’ll twist himself into crazy contortions to grab it now. And – he works so hard trying to get it that he’ll twirl himself into a bush.
Or a golf cart! He’s a goof-ball, I tell you!

I think the daisy punch is so popular because I bet lots of SU purchasers are also PEO sisters. The daisy is the official flower of the organization. Finn is too cute in these pics. I’m heading over to YouTube to watch your video …. your card is super cute with that clever fun-fold. There’s something so bright and sunny and uplifting about daisies and I think that’s one reason the daisy punch has been so popular. As for Finn’s obsession/compulsion to “keep control of himself” by holding his collar tail, I’m thinking he may be onto something there ….. I need something to control myself so I’ll stay away from all the goodies in my refrigerator! LOL

Tho I couldn’t live without my Big Shot, sometimes it’s nice to have a punch. You can sometimes create a project much faster with a punch, especially if you have multiples to make.

Anyway, I think the punch is so popular because: 1) everyone loves daisies; 2) ease of use-dies are great and I love them, but a punch is right there at your elbow, no messing with sandwiches, etc; 3)when layered it is pretty realistic; 4) I love it, so why wouldn’t everyone??? 🙂 🙂

Hey, that is quite the card……interesting fold idea.
Well, I haven’t exactly figured out why the punch is so popular that is has sold numerous times. Maybe the time of the year……daisies are popular this time of year & it’s a flower that almost all people like…..haven’t heard anyone say they “hate” a daisy. Plus the whole suite of DSP & stamp set are just such a neat package. And another thing….a punch is pretty handy…..love the dies but a punch is pretty handy……so that is my guess on the daisy punch!!
Maybe you should cut of the “tail” of Finn’s collar & that will solve that “contortion” problem!

I think the daisy punch bundle is popular because it is so versatile. it can go 3-d to make bouquets, etc. It is also a classic design. I loved catching up with Finn. I am turning into an FF and need my Finn fix. SU had a beautiful daisy set with a brass embossing thingy to match. Sold it long ago, so I might have to break down and get the new daisy bundle. I still have the Bigz daisy die, too. Wish me luck!

Love the card! It is on my list to make next. Daisies in Girl Scouts meant new beginnings. And in olden days women would pick daisies to see who their true love was by plucking each petal, he loves me, he loves me not:) to others it was meant to keep a secret ” I’ll never tell.” It looks like a star shining! You can make a crown of daisies for your hair ( have to get this set now). My birthday is in April and the sweet pea and daisy are the birth flowers. Everyone LOVES daisies because they are bright and cheery! They just make you SMILE! When I got married 51 years ago my attendants carried daisies dyed pink, blue and yellow. I love that the punch and stamps coordinate. Good move on Stampin’ Up’s part! I love dies but grabbing a punch is still
the most efficient way to get a lovely paper shape!

I have a cameo but certain things it won’t cut well like the shape of the daisy punch. Maybe that’s why it has sold out. I’m ordering the pretty label punch tomorrow. I placed an order for the pretty label punch, it was my first order but then realized I wanted to order other things as well. I hope they cancel the first order so I can add more things!

Thanks for the beautiful daisy card with the super fun folds!! Genius! I think it has been so successful because we haven’t had a daisy suite since the ’90’s! So sweet and innocent. Love the petals stamped in white on vellum and embossed!! As for Finn…doggie therapist?? Just sayin’!
