Stampin’ Up! Lovely Inside and Out Daisy

Good morning, y’all!  Hope your week is going well!  We’re back to summer in GA.  Bleh.  But – the veggie plants are loving it and growing like crazy – so there’s that!

I have a summery-pretty card to share with you today.  I used the beautiful Delightful Daisy DSP and the fun Lovely Inside & Out stamp set with the coordinating (and bundled!) Lovely Words Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

My layout – and several of the elements of the card!  – was inspired by the sketch and photo at the Fusion Challenge this week.

I started out by SNAILing a piece of Whisper White card stock to a Daffodil Delight mat.  The middle layer is a piece of Night of Navy paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP, SNAILd to Daffodil Delight and then to the card front.

Next up, I used the Lovely Words Thinlits to cut the heart die shape from a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  When you use that die, it leaves the negative in the piece of card stock.  So, I used a heart die from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits to cut the whole heart out.  I used the same heart die to cut a Whisper White heart, then adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  I adhered it to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White, matted on a strip of Daffodil Delight and popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The flowers are from the Lovely Friends stamp set.  I stamped just the detailed flower images – one large and two small – in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White – then cut them with their matching dies in the Lovely Laurels Thinlits.  They’re adhered to the heart and sentiment with Liquid Glue.

To finish it off, I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to each flower and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I decided to change things up just a smidge, and stamped another sentiment from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set in Night of Navy.  But I placed it in the bottom corner instead of the middle of the Whisper White panel.  I surrounded the sentiment with a few more of the Lovely Friends small flowers in Daffodil Delight, with a Rhinestone in the center of each flower.

I SNAILd the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Lovely Friends Daffodil Delight flowers on the front…

…and a little more Delightful Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love this color combination – it’s so classic and bright and cheerful!  And the Delightful Daisy DSP really makes it shine.  I think the two bundles – Lovely Inside & Out and Lovely Friends – just went together so happily.  Hope you like – and that these are already on your wish list! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix…

People, I have an addiction.

My name is Mary and…I’m a Finn-Picture-A-Holic.

I can’t seem to stop taking picture of him!

Wayne tells me that not everything he does is cute.

I think he’s wrong.

The dog is cute when he’s making me crazy!

Wayne’s been working on our patio by the barn.  With a spot for my raised beds and a fire circle.

Quality control is essential.  Wiggle-Butt Quality Assurance Associates (WBQA2) is on the job….

….they give their all.  The CED (Chief Executive Dog) is on the job-site quite frequently.

Close inspection is necessary to ensure the job is being completed correctly.

It’s critical to leave no stone unturned.  Or left under a pallet….

WBQA2 CED basking in the knowledge of a job-well-done.

  1. What a beautiful card Mary! Your design is amazing, love every detail! And I agree with you…everything that Finn does is incredibly cute. 😉

  2. First of all, my wish list is off the chain! Your card is “lovely” as usual. I showed Perry what Wayne is doing…”that’s a lot of work”! He is doing a marvelous job. You know I am a Finn addict and I agree, whatever he does is cute…even if it’s sleeping. It was so hot here yesterday that you could scramble eggs in the air. Have a great day.

    • Okay – haven’t heard of air-scrambling! But…it sounds awful hot! Thanks much, Karen! And…soon! Soon you’ll be checking off those goodies on you wish list with your demonstrator discount! Thanks much! 🙂

  3. Elisha

Beautiful card! Classic color combo and I like the way you did the flowers – I thought you had embossed them in white at first glance – nice effect! Wow! That’s quite the project Wayne has! Good thing his quality controller is on top of (and under) things!

    • Yes. Quality control is perhaps the most under appreciated job on the construction site! 😉 Thanks much, Elisha! 🙂

  4. Ellie Peckler

Mary, your card is beautiful. Each one you design is so creative! Finn takes his inspector job seriously. You both excel at what you do! – Ellie

Your beautiful card kinda takes second place today to that awesome patio and inspector! Wayne is as talented as you–in a different way maybe, but a talented family for sure! TFS.

  8. Perfectly beautiful card, Mary, and the patio is the bomb! Fun times ahead! I love the Lovely Inside and Out set and the way you showed it off!
