Stampin’ Up! Lovely Inside and Out Daisy

Good morning, y’all!  Hope your week is going well!  We’re back to summer in GA.  Bleh.  But – the veggie plants are loving it and growing like crazy – so there’s that!

I have a summery-pretty card to share with you today.  I used the beautiful Delightful Daisy DSP and the fun Lovely Inside & Out stamp set with the coordinating (and bundled!) Lovely Words Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

My layout – and several of the elements of the card!  – was inspired by the sketch and photo at the Fusion Challenge this week.

I started out by SNAILing a piece of Whisper White card stock to a Daffodil Delight mat.  The middle layer is a piece of Night of Navy paper from the Delightful Daisy DSP, SNAILd to Daffodil Delight and then to the card front.

Next up, I used the Lovely Words Thinlits to cut the heart die shape from a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  When you use that die, it leaves the negative in the piece of card stock.  So, I used a heart die from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits to cut the whole heart out.  I used the same heart die to cut a Whisper White heart, then adhered them together with Liquid Glue.  I adhered it to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy on Whisper White, matted on a strip of Daffodil Delight and popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The flowers are from the Lovely Friends stamp set.  I stamped just the detailed flower images – one large and two small – in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White – then cut them with their matching dies in the Lovely Laurels Thinlits.  They’re adhered to the heart and sentiment with Liquid Glue.

To finish it off, I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to each flower and that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I decided to change things up just a smidge, and stamped another sentiment from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set in Night of Navy.  But I placed it in the bottom corner instead of the middle of the Whisper White panel.  I surrounded the sentiment with a few more of the Lovely Friends small flowers in Daffodil Delight, with a Rhinestone in the center of each flower.

I SNAILd the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Lovely Friends Daffodil Delight flowers on the front…

…and a little more Delightful Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love this color combination – it’s so classic and bright and cheerful!  And the Delightful Daisy DSP really makes it shine.  I think the two bundles – Lovely Inside & Out and Lovely Friends – just went together so happily.  Hope you like – and that these are already on your wish list! 🙂

Finn-Fan Fix…

People, I have an addiction.

My name is Mary and…I’m a Finn-Picture-A-Holic.

I can’t seem to stop taking picture of him!

Wayne tells me that not everything he does is cute.

I think he’s wrong.

The dog is cute when he’s making me crazy!

Wayne’s been working on our patio by the barn.  With a spot for my raised beds and a fire circle.

Quality control is essential.  Wiggle-Butt Quality Assurance Associates (WBQA2) is on the job….

….they give their all.  The CED (Chief Executive Dog) is on the job-site quite frequently.

Close inspection is necessary to ensure the job is being completed correctly.

It’s critical to leave no stone unturned.  Or left under a pallet….

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Friends And Daisies for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! If you’ve been following along, you’ll know this is color week!  I know all our ladies have made some beautiful projects for you, so be sure to hop thru all their blogs when you get done here! 🙂

Here’s our color scheme…

I decided to use a sentiment from the new (coming to you on 1 June!) Lovely Friends stamp set and combine it with its matching die set – the Lovely Laurel Thinlits – and some of my fave Delightful Daisy DSP.  Take a look-see:

I also played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge over at The Paper Players.

I started with a piece of Calypso Coral design paper in the Delightful Daisy DSP.  I was a little worried it would be too busy – and it was with just the sentiment!! – but it worked well once all the flowers were on.

I inked up the large sentiments from the Lovely Friends stamp set in Versamark and stamped it on the DSP panel.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it up.  I SNAILd the panel to an Early Espresso card stock mat.

I got busy with the two pretty little flowers in the Lovely Friends stamp set.  Both of them are two-step stamps.  Using So Saffron and Calypso Coral, I made several of each size flower in a variety of combinations to make a whole flower shop’s worth of flowers!  Some of the first step (the fill in) were done with stamped-off-once ink.  There’s no particular rhyme or reason to the flowers – I just had fun with the stamps!!  On the flowers where I did tone-on-tone, I used my So Saffron and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers to help darken the detailed stamped image.  And then I cut them all out with their matching die in the Lovely Laurel Thinlits.

Before I started sticking flowers on the card front, I used a length of Linen Thread and one of Copper Metallic Thread and wound a few loops on the card front – using a Glue Dot to adhere the loop – in the bottom left and upper right corners.  Then I started adding the flowers.  Some are adhered with Liquid Glue and some are popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow with the Linen Thread and Copper Metallic Thread and adhered it on the flower in the upper lefthand corner with a little Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the ends of the threads under the flowers in the other corners with more Glue Dots.  I wanted it to look like the tails of the bow were looped under the other flowers!

I finished the card front off with some Copper Foil leaves cut with the Lovely Laurel Thinlits tucked under the flowers, some tiny Pearl Basic Jewels Embellishments in the small flowers and a few Enamel Shapes in So Saffron and Calypso Coral in the large flowers.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Lovely Friends in Early Espresso on a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped some more of the Lovely Friends flowers in So Saffron and Calypso Coral.  I made a couple of sticky note masks so that I could build some depth.  I added some of the Enamel Shapes to these flowers as well!

I SNAILd the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Lovely Friends flowers on the front…

…and I added a little more of the Delightful Daisy DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This sentiment from Lovely Friends is big, bold and beautiful – and looks awesome in the Copper embossing, don’t you think?  And – like I’d hoped – the pretty flowers strewn about helped to quiet the kind of busy DSP!  Hope you like – and are adding these goodies to your with lists!

Stampin’ Up! Woodland Lovely Friends Sneak Peek

Mornin’, y’all!  Hope this post finds you well!

My card for today is another sneak peek – this time of the Lovely Friends stamp set and the bundled Lovely Laurels Thinlits.  I added a little bit of the Delightful Daisy DSP – sooooo pretty!! – and an old favorite…the Woodland TIEF!!  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Global Design Project challenge – which is a CASE The Designer challenge.

And my color scheme is inspired by the Sunday Stamps color challenge.

I started with a pretty Olive Green panel from the Delightful Daisy DSP (coming 1 June!) and I ran it thru one of my favorite embossing folders – the Woodland TIEF.  Then I matted it on a piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock.

I worked with the corner square element in the inspiration card and made a frame and sentiment panel.  I cut the sentiment panel from a piece of Whisper White, using a square Stitched Shapes Framelit.  The frame is two pieces – one in Always Artichoke and one in Whisper White.  I cut both of the frames with a scalloped square die in the Squares Layering Framelits – using two adjacent-sized dies.  To make the frame, I used the same square-sided die to cut the center out of both pieces.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere the two frames together.

I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely Friends stamp set (1 June).  I inked “Feeling Very” in Crumb Cake and stamped it first.  Then I cleaned my stamp and inked up “Blessed” in Old Olive and stamped it under the first portion of the sentiment.  I also added some Peekaboo Peach flourish images in the corners of the panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment panel and then popped the frame over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The floral decoration is all from Lovely Friends and the matching Lovely Laurel Thinlits.  I stamped several large and small flowers – these are all two-step images.  I used Peekaboo Peach and stamped the first image (the fill-in) in full strength or stamped-off-once ink.  Then I added the second step image.  I also stamped several where I only used the second step – some in full strength Peekaboo Peach and some in stamped off once ink.  I cut them all out with their matching dies with the Lovely Laurel set.

I cut a few leaves from Old Olive and Always Artichoke.  Then I built the arranegement with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals, adding a few loops of LinenThread, too.  Finally, I used some new Glitter Enamel Dots (avail 1 June) in pale Crushed Curry and Old Olive and added them to the larger flowers.  The small flowers got a Pearl Basic Jewel Embellishment, and the card front was done.

On the inside, I just added a Peekaboo Peach flourish and some Pear Pizzazz dots (both from Lovely Friends!) in the corners of a Whisper White panel.

I SNAILd the panel to a Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Always Artichoke card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Lovely Friends flourishes and dots on the front…

…and a little more of the Delightful Daisy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the versatility and diversity of the Delightful Daisy DSP.  And the sentiments in Lovely Friends are…lovely?? 😏…and quite varied, too!  I hope you like!

A quick note from Stampin’ Up! They’ve update the Clearance Rack with more items – some up to 60% off!!  Whoo-hoo!  So be sure to check it out soon – get the great deals before they’re gone!

Finn-Fan Fix…

I’ve got some bad news, folks.

Finn has become a paparrazi-phobe.

Yes, it’s true.

He gets himself in a cute position, holds his lips adorably, tilts his head perfectly.  And then…

…as soon as I pull out the camera…

…he moves.

Which is all to say that I don’t have a new picture of the Diva.

Can boys be divas??  I don’t know.

But since he became the teacher’s pet at class the other day – he’s been pretty slippery in the photo-op department.

So…I took a picture of something that couldn’t move.

That’s my veggie plants from the Territorial Seeds company.  They’re resting on my recently compost-refreshed bed.  I’ll wait another day or so before I get them planted – I think the chicken and mushroom compost I put in on Sunday is still a little too hot!

This year I’m planting EIGHT Ancho Magnifico plants!!  Chile Rellleno casseroles in my future!!  Yumm!!

Hopefully I’ll get sneakier and have a pic of Himself for you tomorrow!
