Stampin’ Up! From Our Home Sweet Home Front Flap Fun Fold Card

Good morning and…also?  Happy Happy Hawwwp Day on the FINAL day of July!  Yep – this is the last day of the month AND the last day to gather up some last minute Bonus Days coupons!!  TOMORROW – you’ll be able to start SPENDING THEM!!  I’ve got a blurbage below with the deets – including a couple graphics that’ll help you out.  BUT – and this is big! – there’s ALSO a peek at a BIG DSP sale starting on 6 Aug.  So…maybe you hold on to those coupons till then!?  Decisions…decisions…oh those dastardly decisions!! 😂

The card I have for you today features a sweet little stamp set from the Annual Catalog called From Our Home – and I paired it with some pretty Flowering Zinnias DSP in a quick and easy front flap fun fold.  Take a look-see:

I decided to play along the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge again and pulled a few elements from their “board”. I got Die Cuts – Free – Sentiment and Layers – Free – Flowers. 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of Flowering Zinnia DSP on a Petal Pink card base using Liquid Glue.

The small front flap card is made from a 4 3/8″ x 6 1/2″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored and folded at 3 1/4″.

I matted another piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP on a Petal Pink mat and then adhered it to the front of that small card base with Liquid Glue.

Using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes square die, I cut yet another design of the Flowering Zinnias DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I used Stampin’ Seal + to adhere a loop-d-loop of Petal Pink 1/4″ Diagonal Trim.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the sweet house image from the From Our Home set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.   Just off the “porch”, I stamped the From Our Home sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.

I cut out the image with the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes square die.

Using Watercolor Pencils – I colored the image.  The pencils I used were:

– Basic Black (roof, window and door trim)

– Old Olive (grass and trees)

– Pecan Pie (foundation)

– Basic Gray (railing)

– Blue and Fresh Freesia (sky)

Then I adhered the square over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Petal Pink Foiled Gems and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second From Our Home sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the lone tree image in Tuxedo Black and colored it with Old Olive and Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencils.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the small card and then adhered the card (with Liquid Glue) to the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the lone From Our Home tree image on the front…

…and more of the Flowering Zinnias DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  From Our Home is such a sweet little set and if you have friends or family who might be moving into a new home soon OR if you’ve visited friends and would like to thank them for their hospitality – this is a great one to have on your shelf!  Add some pretty DSP – like the Flowering Zinnias I’ve used here and make a quick little fun fold and….send it! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Flying Home In The City

Mornin’, my peeps!  Getting ready to Spring-forward tonight?  I think we need to stay on Daylight Savings year round, don’t you?  I heard that Florida was looking at doing that.  If they do, perhaps a precedent will be set and more states (hey GA and NC, you listening?!?) will follow suit.  I can’t think of any real reason for standard time any more, can you?  I’ll be sorry to lose that hour tonight, but I’m looking forward to longer days!! 🙂

Some friends of mine recently moved to a new retirement community nearby and I wanted to make a card to send to welcome them to their new home!  I love the new Flying Home stamp set, so I decided to create a little bird community.  And since Flying Home doesn’t have any sentiments, I pulled a good one from the Host-exclusive In The City set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Continue reading

Stampin’ Up! At Home With You in the City!

Happy post-Eclipse Day!  I hope you enjoyed the event yesterday, wherever you were.  We pretty much watched it on television – cuz they were showing some pretty spectacular images!  Pretty cool.

My card today is the one that I gave to Matt on Sunday – with a couple of gift cards in it – Home Depot and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Both seemed appropriate for setting up a new house!  I used the In the City host-exclusive set, and a bunch of elements from the At Home With You bundle.  On the inside is a sentiment from the Home Life stamp set.  Take a look-see:

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 7

I designed the card based on the FabFriday challenge – making a pocket for the gift cards.

Screen Shot 2017-08-21 at 17.49.54

If you look – the gift cards are the “embellishment” on the right side. 🙂

I started with a Crumb Cake card base, and stamped a couple of the images from the In The City stamp set in Crumb Cake across the front.

The angled panel is a piece of Crushed Curry that I embossed in the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and then added some faux stitches with my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 3

I stamped the door from the At Home With You set in Early Espresso onto a piece of Wood Textures DSP and cut it out with the die in the matching At Home Framelits.

I popped the Crushed Curry panel onto the card base with Foam Adhesive Strips (I only used the foam on the top, bottom and left side – leaving the right side open for my gift cards) and then adhered the cut door with Liquid Glue.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 2

Then I got busy decorating my front door.  I stamped all the images from the At Home With You set in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.  I pulled out a plethora of Stampin’ Write Markers to color everything:  Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Pear Wild Wasabi, and Tangerine Tango.

Once everything was colored and cut out with their matching dies in the At Home Framelits, I adhered everything with Liquid Glue and some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my sentiment, I cut the word using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits – cutting three of them from Cajun Craze and stacking them with Liquid Glue.  I brushed it with my Clear Wink of Stella and adhered it to the front with Liquid Glue.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 7

I added a little Linen Thread Bow and a Touches of Nature Element with Liquid Glue.  Sticking my gift cards in completed the card!

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Home Life stamp set in Cajun Craze on a Very Vanilla mat.  Over the sentiment, I added more images from In the City in Crumb Cake.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 4

I added some more faux stitches in Cajun Craze, Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and then into the card base, and that was it for the card.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more In the City Crumb Cake images across the front.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 5

…and then I added some more Wood Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Congrats on Your New Home - Stamps-N-Lingers 6

Et Voila!  There’s more than one way to give someone some gift cards, yes?  And it seemed awfully appropriate to use the At Home With You bundle, Home Life and the In the City host-set.  I know Matt liked the card – it even got a spot on the refrigerator in his new house!  Hope you like, too!

Finn-Fan Fix

So, today, while Wayne and I were looking thru a double-filtered welding helmet watching the not-to-be-seen-again-for-7-years eclipse, Finn was…bored.

I mean – nothing was happening.  It wasn’t particularly dark.

No aliens showed up.

No angels sang – no power went out.

Pretty nondescript kind of day.

This is how his sister dealt with the event.

IMG_9517

Wishful thinking.  We were hoping to see this…

IMG_9515

What we really saw was….dim.

Just…dimness everywhere for about 2 minutes.  Even looking at the sun – we saw no corona.  No “diamond ring”.  Just a sliver of sun.

Kind of a let-down.

Finn’s response?

Let’s pull something out of the garden and see if anyone notices…
