Stampin’ UP! Easter Joy For You Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

As we progress into Spring, we’re getting into Easter time – okay, yeah – AFTER Valentine’s Day.  And St Patrick’s Day.  Hmm – well, Easter IS coming!  Really!  So – today’s card might be one you’d like to make (when it finally gets here!) – using the new Easter Basket bundle and coordinating Easter Joy Specialty DSP!  And. – a little All in a Row embossing.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I did a quick video on how to make this pretty card –  which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by embossing a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock in the new All in a Row Embossing Folder and adhering it to the front of my Thick Basic White card base using Liquid Glue.

Using the third-from-largest Perennial Postage die, I cut a piece of Easter Joy Specialty DSP.  I cut the bottom 1/2″ off the die cut with my Paper Trimmer – and then adhered both pieces to the card front – separating the pieces (to make it look longer than it really is!).

Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of the Easter Joy Specialty DSP over the gap in the die cut!

Using the dies in the Easter Basket set, I cut out some flowers – they’re tulips – from Daffodil Delight and Peach Pie cardstock.  I cut three stems and one “grass” out of Shy Shamrock.  Using pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals (or Mini’s if that’s how you roll) – I adhered the flower “cups” to the flower bases.  Then I adhered the completed flowers to the tops of the stems with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the bunny and the egg (twice) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

I colored the bunny’s ear with the Dark Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blend.  Then I colored the eggs with the Dark Pretty in Pink, Dark Shy Shamrock and Light & Dark Daffodil Delight Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the flowers to the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Easter Basket sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.  With the next-to-smallest Perennial Postage die – I cut it out (with the sentiment near the top and “cheated” towards the right end of the die cut).

I adhered the sentiment over the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut grass to the sentiment.  I added the bunny with more Dimensionals and slid the eggs in – securing them with Liquid Glue.

I tucked a little pink gingham egg from the Easter Assortment pack into the grass – can you see it? – and then added five of the Lemon Lolly circles and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the Easter Basket set in Balmy Blue on a Basic White panel.  Across the bottom, I stamped and colored a few Easter Eggs.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a couple of Easter eggs on the front…

…and more of the Easter Joy Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I know a lot of folks lean towards more religious cards for Easter, as do I – but…this Easter Basket set is awfully cute!  The kids and grands would love an Easter Bunny-strewn card (to go with their Easter Baskets. right?)!  And the Easter Joy Specialty DSP is really cool – it’s got a shiny side and a matte side – and they’re BOTH beautiful!  I LOVE this plaid – Shy Shamrock and Balmy Blue go together perfectly!
