Happy Happy Friday, y’all! Hope your week has been good – and…that you are NOT in the path of this ginormous winter storm! We’re sort of on the bottom edge – so…it’s gonna get cold as a well-digger’s lunch bucket on Sunday…but…it’s probably a coin toss on ice or snow! So…I guess we’ll see what we see!
Today’s card is a cool fun fold – I’m sort of calling it a Front Z-Fold card. It features the fun (sort of a fly-over!) Joyful Squares bundle and the coordinating Square Snippets DSP! I pulled a pretty sentiment from the Boardwalk Fun set to make it into a birthday card. Take a look-see:
I started by stamping a Boardwalk Fun sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink near the bottom of a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Square Snippets DSP and adhered it to the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock.
Next, I scored a 3 1/4″ x 9 3/4″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock at 3 1/4″ and 6 3/4″ and folded it to make the Z-fold card.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Square Snippets DSP (in Pretty Peacock) to the front panel of the Z-Fold.
Then, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 3″ x 3″ square of Square Snippets DSP to each of the three Z-Fold panels.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the large filigree square image from Joyful Squares set twice in Strawberry Slush. I used the square die in the Joyful Squares die set to cut them both out. On one of the squares, I used the round die in the set to cut out the center of the square.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the square with the hole in it to the front of the Z-Fold.
On a piece of Strawberry Slush Square Snippets DSP, I stamped the little leaf from the Joyful Squares set three times in Versamark Ink, sprinkled them with white Basics WOW Embossing Powder and heat set them with my Heat Tool.
When they were cool, I cut them out with the coordinating die in the set and then used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the card front.
I tied a little bow from white Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little dab of Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the hearts image from Joyful Squares in Strawberry Slush ink. I used scissors to cut out the larger heart and popped it over the bow with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
I adhered the whole Z-Fold to a 3 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock with Liquid Glue and then adhered the whole thing to the card front with more Liquid Glue.
I inked just the word “Love” from Joyful Squares in Pretty Peacock ink and stamped it in the center of the second stamped filigree square. Then I adhered it to the back panel of the Z-fold with Liquid Glue.
I added some Strawberry Slush Gems and the card front was done.
For the back panel, I stamped the corner image from Joyful Squares in Strawberry Slush ink on a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
I adhered the panel to the back of the card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Joyful Squares hearts in Strawberry Slush ink on the front…
…and more of the Square Snippets DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The Joyful Squares bundle is perfect for scrapbooking but…I think it does pretty darned good on a card, don’t you!? And it works perfectly with the coordinating Square Snippets DSP – I love this paper. SOOO many colors and patterns to pick and choose – and there are FOUR sheets of each design. So – get busy creating with it!
I hope you like!

Such a sweet card! Love the little z-fold on the card! I’m sure that it’s love…and it has nothing to do with what you have in your hand. 🙂
No, of course not!! LOL! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Both! But mostly…popcorn!!! Just sayin’.
Love your card Mary. Thanks for your useful tutorials.
Hugs.
Yeah – we gotta be real. He’d be looking at his Dad – or any random stranger! – with a similar look if THEY had popcorn!! Thanks, Paula! 🙂
Ah, a card with Joyful Squares! I’m overjoyed! And it’s cute and fun. Love it! And Finn loves you and popcorn, so it can be both! TFS
Yeah! Glad that you liked it, Susan! :). Thanks so much! 🙂
