Good morning and happy Sunday – the FINAL Sunday of 2025. Wow – that’s hard to believe, isn’t it!? 🤦♀️. This has been….quite the year.
My card today has no connection to Christmas OR New Year’s. And it’s got a few sneak peeks from the Jan-Apr 2026 Mini – whcih means you’ll be able to get them all in less than two weeks on 6 Jan! The cool all-images Gears & Textures bundle works with the all-sentiment Reason to Celebrate stamp set to make it into a birthday card! Also coming in January is the fun new Square Snippets DSP as the starting point and…the new Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera Pack adds a little feminine touch. Take a look-see:
I started with a lattice-y piece of Square Snippets DSP. Y’all – this stand-alone DSP is so fun – with different sized panels for your card projects (or scrapbooking!) on one side – and cool designs on the other!
Using a few of the images in the Gears & Textures stamp set, I stamped around in stamped-off-once and stamped-off-twice Secret Sea ink.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the light-bulb filament image from Gears & Textures in Secret Sea ink. I also stamped a few gears in Smoky Slate ink. Then I used the coordinating dies in the Gear & Textures die set to cut everything out. I also cut out two of the lightbulb-element die cuts in Secret Sea cardstock.
I adhered each of the die cut light-bulb filaments to the Secret Sea lightbulb-elements with Liquid Glue.
I used the dies in the set to cut out a bunch of gears and elements from a combination of Copper & Tungsten (this is the dark gray color) Textured Metallic Specialty Paper and Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper. The video linked below shows you all the elements I used on this card – but…have fun with the dies! There’s no right or wrong here – you just want a large gear, a couple of mediums, and a small gear when you get done!
But – here’s an example for you! I adhered all the pieces and parts to the largest gear with Liquid Glue!
– Largest Gear – Copper Textured Metallic Specialty Paper
– Open ring – Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper
– Middle gear – Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper
– Small middle gear – Tungsten Textured Metallic Specialty Paper
– Center (hub cap??) – Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper
– Center Cross – Tungsten Textured Metallic Specialty Paper
I used a ruler and the bullet end of the Light Secret Sea Stampin’ Blend to draw two power cords for the lightbulbs. Then I adhered the panel to a Secret Sea cardstock mat using Liquid Glue.
Then – time to build the collage!
I adhered the large layered gear with Liquid Glue – then added a couple of die cut Smoky Slate gears underneath.
The pretty florals are from the new Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera Pack – I adhered the top one as-is with Liquid Glue. For the bottom floral, I used scissors to trim off the bottom stem – then adhered it with Liquid Glue.
Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a loop of Cloud Cover 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon.
On a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock, I stamped the large “birthday” from the new Reason to Celebrate stamp set in Secret Sea ink. Over the top, I stamped “happy” in Secret Sea. Then I used the banner die in the Stylish Shapes die set to cut it out.
I used Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the ribbon.
Using Liquid Glue, I tucked the final Gears & Textures gears around the sentiment – adhering them with Liquid Glue.
I added some new Pearlized Faceted Pearls (available on 6 Jan in the new Catalog) in white and Petal Pink and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the large “Special Day” from Reason to Celebrate in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White panel. Over it, I stamped “on your” – also in Secret Sea. Then I added some images from the Gears & Textures set in stamped-off-once and stamped-off-twice Secret Sea ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere to the panel to the inside of my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Gears & Textures images on the front..
…and more of the Square Snippet DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! If you love collage-ify-ing on your cards as much as I do, then…the Gears & Textures bundle is one you are going to NEED!
