Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all! And – happy Christmas Eve! Hope you’ve got all the things done and can just set back and enjoy the day! We’ve been invited to a Christmas Eve party this evening – where we’ll eat and play silly fun “reindeer games”. I’ve got a little cooking to do to get ready but…we’re really looking forward to going and having a nice evening!
Today’s card is a bit of a sneak peek – with a great all-sentiment set – called Prayers & Promises (new on 6 Jan in the Mini Catalog) and the Fragrant Leaves stamp set and Covered in Flowers Accents (these are also new on 6 Jan in the Online Exclusives). And there’s pretty Brushed with Beauty DSP and the uber-awesome Textured Notes die set. I used it all to make a pretty sympathy card. Take a look-see:
I started by adhering a piece of Brushed with Beauty DSP on a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front. Then I cut out a second piece of the DSP using the second-from-largest Textured Notes die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
The pretty die cuts are all from the new Covered in Flowers Accents – these are heavy vanilla cardstock – and they’re beautiful!
I chose a couple of them and adhered them with Liquid Glue.
I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a 1/2″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a sentiment from the new Prayers & Promises stamp set in Calypso Coral ink. I snipped an angle on the left side of the strip.
I cut a strip of another design from the Brushed with Beauty DSP – and cut an angle on the left end of it, too.
Then I adhered the sentiment to the DSP strip with Liquid Glue.
I popped the layered sentiment over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added five Calypso Coral 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls and the card front was done!
The pretty Prayers & Promises set (doesn’t it feel like we need some Poems and Things That we Believe In….?? IYKYK) has so many great sentiments that…I wanted to use TWO of them!
So – I stamped them both on two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock in Calypso Coral ink. I stamped the big, beautiful floral from the new Fragrant Layers stamp set (another newbie coming on 6 Jan as an Online Exclusive) in Mossy Meadow ink in the corners.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere both panels to the inside of the Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Fragrant Layers floral on the front…
…and more of the Brushed with Beauty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my – I am already loving the new Prayers & Promises set – the sentiments are wonderful. In fact, I like it so much that…it might be one of the very few that have a permanent spot on my shelf – even when it retires! Yes, it’s THAT good – and you are GOING to want it on 6 Jan!! While you’re at it – be sure you take a gander at the new Fragrant Layers stamp set (it’s got dies, too – so…check out the bundle!). The stamped and die cut flowers in the set are wonderful and it’s got great sentiments, too! Of course, the Brushed with Beauty DSP is truly stunning!

Finn Fan Fix
I don’t like Eggplant Parmigiana, but – Wayne likes it a lot. So – we buy a Stouffer’s pack every once in a while and he eats on it for a day or two, then I freeze the rest.
Finn does his part tidying up the pan.
No matter how difficult the task (those things slide around a LOT) – he and his giant hands get the job done every time!
