Good morning and happy Friday! Gotta love these short weeks, right?! Hope your weekend is looking promising!
My card today is a fun fold – for the latest Creative Creases challenge – and it’s a fun look at the new Lights of Aurora Suite from the Sep-Dec 2025 Mini Catalog! The Light & Wonder bundle and the gorgeous Lights of Aurora DSP shines on this Front Accordion Fold (I dunno if that’s really it’s name but..it’s got an accordion fold. On the front. So… 🤷♀️). Take a look-see:
You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards – at this month’s Creative Creases Challenge! 😎. We’re ALWAYS wanting to see pretty fun folds so…I hope hope hope you’ll make one (or three!) and come share them with us! 🙂
I first saw this fun fold on Pinterest and tracked it down to Create with Selene – so, I used her card to see the technique – and get some measurements! 🙂
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic Black as the card base. I matted a piece of Lights of Aurora 6″ x 6″ DSP on Pool Party cardstock and then adhered it to the card base with Liquid Glue.
To make the accordion fold, I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pool Party cardstock at 1 1/2″, 3″, 5 1/2″ and 8″ on the long side. Then I folded it into the accordion shape.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered pieces of Lights of Aurora DSP to the first, second, third and last panels of the fold. You can see in the video linked below how I cut the DSP – it took two sheets – to keep the “scene” going from one panel to the next.
For the middle sentiment panel, I stamped a Light & Wonder sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink on a 2 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ Basic White panel.
Using the smaller trees die in the Light & Wonder Die set, I cut trees from a 1 3/4″ x 6 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. I cut the die cut in half and used Liquid Glue to adhere one piece to the bottom of the sentiment panel.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to the inside of the accordion fold. Then I adhered the remaining piece of the die cut tree-line to the back panel.
At that point, I used Liquid Glue on the back of the fold to adhere it to the center of the card base.
For the front, I used the largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a Basic Black circle and a Window Sheet circle.
Using the same smaller tree-line die from the Light & Wonder set, I cut off the top portion of the Basic Black circle.
I stamped a small sentiment from the Light & Wonder set in Versamark Ink on the remaining (bottom) portion of the black circle, sprinkled it with White Basics WOW! Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.
Using a sponge, I dabbed Liquid Glue on the back of the die cut and adhered it to the Window Sheet die cut circle – aligning the bottoms of the circle. I added three clear Faceted Snowflakes in the “sky”.
Using Liquid Glue on the back of the left side of the circle – just where the black cardstock would hide it – I adhered the circle to the first panel of the accordion fold.
On a scrap of the Lights of Aurora DSP, I stamped the larger Light & Wonder sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with the White Basics WOW! Embossing Folder and heat set it.
When the embossing had cooled it cut it out with the large Stylish Shapes label die.
I tied a bow from two lengths of black twine from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot. Then I used double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the bottom of the circle – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Lights of Aurora 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This is a super easy fun fold – and it gives you lots of space for decorating! I love how the Light & Wonder set gives beautiful sentiments and really cool die cuts – that forest silhouette on the Window Sheet…it looks so cool!! The Lights of Aurora DSP is just as stunning as its namesake and you get EIGHT pieces of each of the 6 gorgeous designs!! Whoo-hoo!
I hope you like!

That card is awesome!! Perfect way to showcase that designer paper and those dies. And the big dog is just keeping an eye on everything…someone has to keep the small dog out of trouble. 😉
Yup – he keeps the hawks away!! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
Just love your card, especially the window! Very clever!
Finn and Addy look they are becoming the best of friends!
Thanks so much! I love how it ended up looking sort of like a full moon! 🙂 And yes – they’re going to be the best of buddies!
Mary, This Aurora card is amazing! I have been playing with the DSP and creating some cards but this one looks like a ton of work and well worth the effort. I am hoping to be able to share my cards on Monday and if I get this one done, I will make sure to give you the glory. Thanks for the PDF.
Thanks so much, Kelly! The good news is it LOOKS like a lot more work than it IS!! Have fun making it! 🙂
Great card, Mary! I had to have the Lights of Aurora suite and love it! Your card showcases the dsp perfectly. I haven’t made this fun fold in a while, so it’s good inspiration to give it a go soon. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you so much, Debbie – you’re going to have fun with it, I know! Happy weekend! 🙂
This card is every kind of wonderful, Mary! So BEAUTIFUL! I plan on CASEing it for 2 special people in my life.
Addy looks so tiny next to Finn, they make me laugh. ❤️
Well – he’s about…8 times bigger than she is! LOL! Thanks so much, Pat – they’ll love this card! 🙂
Mary, what an amazing card. You captured the Aurora Lights perfectly!
TFS,
Rae
Thanks so much, Rae – I love this DSP! 🙂
Wow! This is so gorgeous, Mary! The first stop on my cruise was Reykjavik, and I saw a beautiful presentation on the Northern Lights and the legends about them in Iceland. Your card brings them to mind so beautifully! Great design for showcasing that lovely DSP!
Oh – that’s wonderful! I hope to see them IRL one day!! Thank you so much! 🙂
This is just beautiful! It is easier than it looks, unless, like me you decide to use the Everyday Arches die instead of the circle (I was trying to make it a little different) and keep messing up. 😛 But a beautiful card that I will be doing with my Stamp Camp group! I will give them your website so they can see yours and you get all the credit. I only give directions to attendees, they are never posted online.
Oh thank you, Becky! You are more than welcome to CASE this – or any! – of my cards! And thank you for that compliment! 🙂
This is an awesome card! Love it!
Thanks, Pat! 🙂
Such a pretty fun fold! I totally love the papers you used, too, Mary! Love!
Thanks so much, Leslie! 🙂
