Stampin’ UP! Faux Embossed Perfectly Painterly Pears Hello Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  Hope you had a great weekend!  There’s only two more weeks of August so…I am REALLY hoping we’re going to cool off soon!  I mean – I’m not holding my breath or anything, but…a girl can hope.  Even an old one! 😉

My card today showcases a favorite of…well…everybody!  The Painterly Pears suite from the Online Exclusives!  I did a little faux embossing and showcased the Painterly Pears DSP!  Take a look-see:

Stampin' UP! Faux Embossed Perfectly Painterly Pears Hello Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

My layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I did a quick video on how to make this pretty card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by die cutting the large leaf from the Perfectly Pears die set a few times – like…5 or 6! – in Basic Beige cardstock.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the die cuts all over the 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock – letting some of them spill off the edges.  I snipped leaves here and there to fill in gaps – and then trimmed the excess from the edges as needed.  Faux embossing!

Then, using the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies, I cut a circle from the middle of the panel – cheated a little towards the top.

From a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, I cut out the hashmark die from Perfectly Pears.  Then, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the piece of Painterly Pears DSP to the Mossy Meadow panel. Note: when you cut this piece of DSP – be thinking about what you want to showcase in the circle.  Then, when you adhere it to the mat – be sure that part IS going to be in the middle of your “window”.

Then I popped the card front in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a short length of Petal Pink 5 1/6″ Braided Trim to the Mossy Meadow die cut hashmark.  I gently frayed the ends of the trim.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the Perfectly Pears sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  Then I cut it out with the small label die from the bundled Perfectly Pears die set.

I adhered the sentiment to the braided trim with a couple of Glue Dots and then adhered the whole thing to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Secret Sea Low Profile Sparkle Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the pear outline and fill images in Mossy Meadow ink in the corner of a Basic Beige panel.  I stamped the stem/leaves outline in Pecan Pie ink and the fill image in Mossy Meadow. Using a Sponge Dauber, I added a smidge of Darling Duckling ink to the pear.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Perfectly Pears pear on the front…

…and more of the Painterly Pears DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – what do you think about faux embossing?!  It takes a little minute and a little patience – but…it’s not too bad – and the result is so cool!  And gives you so many design options!  I love the Perfectly Pears die set for this – that leaf is sorta perfect!  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that it’s framing a gorgeous piece of Painterly Pears DSP (which just so HAPPENS to be on sale this month!!), now does it?!  Overall – this is just a stunning Suite of goodies!!

BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAYS COMING UP!

The 2025 back-to-school sales tax holiday season begins this weekend and there are twelve states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, South Caroling, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July and August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.”  Click the table below to open the chart and see what is available and when! 🙂

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period to receive these items tax-free. Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For all y’all that live in Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin…sorry!  Those states suspended the sales tax holiday again this year. 🙁

Finn Fan Fix

Last night we had rain and some thunder.  Which gets me some VERY close be-by dogs.

I went to take a bath and – as is not at all unusual – Finn came with me and settled down against the tub.

It’s sorta our thing.

But…imagine my surprise when I went to get OUT of the tub and saw….

Never saw her come in – and she usually hangs out in the other section of the bathroom.  I think she’s a little worried that Finn won’t let her join him in “his” spot.

Guess the thunder made her decide to risk it and…fortunately, he’s a good sport!
