Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Fun Fold! Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
My Z-fold birthday card today is really fun – with the Long Time No See stamp set taking the spotlight. Take a look-see:
I saw a card like this from Maike Van Heuven Van Staereling de Louw on FB and thought it was so cute that…I made this A2 Sized version! 🙂
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock that I scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ – then folded to create the “z”. That means…the 2 3/4″ fold as a mountain and the 5 1/2″ as a valley.
Then I cut three pieces of Basic White cardstock – two at 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ and one at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
On the largest piece – the one that will be the back panel – I stamped the front portion of the Long Time No See dog in Early Espresso ink. This is a photopolymer set so I just inked the part of the dog that I wanted.
I took one of the 2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ Basic White panels and – lining up with the front of the dog – inked and stamped….other end in Early Espresso ink! 🙂
I laid out all three pieces and…stamped the “extender” image on the middle panel in Early Espresso ink.
Tip – you’re trying to make him continue as seamlessly as possible – so…take the time to line the images up, okay?
On the front panel – I stamped the first Long Time No See sentiment in Petunia Pop ink. Then I tore a 4 1/8″ long strip of Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP (about 1/2″ wide) and adhered it to the left edge with Liquid Glue.
On the large back panel – I tore and adhered another strip of the Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP. I stamped the second sentiment in Petunia Pop.
Tip – you don’t want to be able to SEE the second sentiment when the card is closed – you just want to see the front sentiment and the “whole” dog.
I colored the weiner-dog’s shirt with Light Daffodil Delight and Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends and his body (don’t forget that front paw!) with a Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend.
I also gave him a little “ground” to stand on with the Light Summer Splash Blend.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere all three panels to the inside of the card base. Then I added some dragonflies from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds pack – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the front of the Long Time No See weiner on the front…
…and some more of the Summer Splash 2024-2026 In Color DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Okay – this is just a simple stamp set – you might even have missed it when the new Online Exclusives went live. But…DO take another look at the Long Time No See set – there’s a LLAMA, too! His neck can be…..loooooong, too! Christmas or birthday or…missing you! Boom!
I hope you like!
