Stampin’ UP! Woods & Metallics Grateful Blessing Thanks for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

We’ve got a cool new product in the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog – they’re called Metallic Textures Rub Ons.  Do you remember doing rub on pictures when you were little?   Or rub-on tattoos?  I loved them – the idea that you could just…rub over an image and it was magically on your paper?  Yes!  So – I was excited to play with OUR version!  I added some Country Woods DSP and a simple sentiment from the Grateful Blessing stamp set and….take a look-see:

And here’s the challenge we were all working with this week!

This one is quick and easy so…buckle up, buttercup! 🙂

I started by adhering some dark wood paper from the Country Woods DSP pack on a Smoky Slate mat and adhering it to the front of my Misty Moonlight card base.

Using the Next-to-Smallest square Stylish Shapes die, I cut out four small squares from some Smoky Slate Country Woods DSP.  I adhered them with Liquid Glue – alternating the direction of the grain.  You can also see that I cut two from a slightly darker portion of the same paper!

On a piece of the Country Woods DSP – Misty Moonlight, this time – I used my Bone Folder to rub on a silver pine bough from the Metallic Textures Rub Ons.  Yes, it fascinated me as much at the ripe old age of 29 as it did when I was 9! 😉

I cut out the silver bough using the Second-from-Largest Stylish Shapes circle die and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend to color a length of white Baker’s Twine.  Then, I tied a simple bow with the colored twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

On a 5/8″ x 3 1/8″ strip of Smoky Slate cardstock, I stamped part of the Grateful Blessing sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.  It’s a photopolymer set so it was easy to only ink the part that I wanted!

I snipped a banner end and adhered the sentiment over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added five silver Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added a couple more silver Metallic Textures Rub Ons on a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the Misty Moonlight card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got another silver Metallic Textures Rub On bough on the front…

…and more of the Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – the fun-factor of the Metallic Textures Rub Ons is….huge!  You can SEE the images transferring to your cardstock!  So cool!  And – you get plenty of pretty images in Silver and Gold.  Hint – you MIGHT see these this afternoon on my video… just sayin’!  I love the elegant silver on the rustic Country Woods DSP, too, don’t you?! And the Grateful Blessing stamp set is really sweet – pretty images and pretty sentiments! 🙂

Just beautiful Mary! Love the embossed image on the designer paper, that’s awesome! 🙂

  4. I love how you used the alternating wood grain direction on the small squares—it adds such subtle texture and depth to the card. The Metallic Textures Rub Ons sound like a fun blast from the past with a classy twist! Excited to see more ways you incorporate them in your designs.
