Stampin’ Up! Simply Pretty Florals in Bloom Birthday Card

Happy Saturday, y’all!  When you read this we’ll be getting on the road for the last day to home!  Yeah!

Or – we’ll still be sound asleep cuz we’re too tired to get up and do our normal “early start”!  Hard to say, really.  Regardless – this is our shortest day so…hopefully we’ll be at the home-drome before dark!  I’m quite ready to be out of the truck for a bit – and I KNOW Wayne is, too!  The dogs?  Meh.  They’re sleeping their way to GA.  Long as we keep the walks – and the food – and the bones – and their beds…coming, they’re good to go! 🙂

My card today is…NOT my card.  It’s my friend Beth Kist’s card – and it’s super pretty!  It features some new Florals in Bloom DSP and the coordinating Pretty Florals bundle (two Online Exclusives) and a sentiment from the Simply Said Mix & Match Stamp Set (which carried over into the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog).  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Simply Pretty Florals in Bloom Birthday Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

She started by adhering a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of the gorgeous new Florals in Bloom DSP to a Secret Sea card base using Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, she stamped a sentiment from the Simply Said Mix & Match Stamp Set in Petunia Pop ink.  Using the third-from-largest Nested Essentials die, she cut out the sentiment – cheating the sentiment to the right side of the die.

She placed that same Nested Essentials die onto a piece of Secret Sea cardstock and outlined it with a pencil.  After cutting out the shape with Paper Snips, she adhered the sentiment to it (making a mat!) – with Liquid Glue.  Then she popped the matted sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the flowers – she cut three of the Pretty Florals flowers in Pretty in Pink cardstock and three of the smaller details cuts in Petunia Pop cardstock. Note: the dies cut three of each part of the flowers at a time so it’s easy-peasy getting all the pieces and parts made. The stems/flowers are cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock.

She assembled the flowers using Liquid Glue – then adhered them to the sentiment with MORE Liquid Glue.  Beth’s a Liquid Glue girl just like me! 🙂

A few Cloud Cover 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls finished off the card front!

For the inside of the card, she stamped the flower stem in Granny Apple Green on a piece of Basic White cardstock.   Then she stamped the detailed parts of the flowers in Berry Burst.  Finally,  she added the solid (fill) image in stamped-off-once Petunia Pop ink!  Note: it’s almost always easier to do two-step stamping if you stamp the DARKER ink first!

Beth used Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped panel to the inside of the Secret Sea card base and the card was done!

The front of the Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pretty Florals flower on the front…

And more of the Florals in Bloom DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  The Pretty Florals bundle – and coordinating Flowers in Bloom DSP – are PERFECT for all your cards for gardeners.  And gardener wanna-be’s!  Or…anyone who just LOVES flowers!!  Add a sentiment such as this one from the Simply Said Mix & Match stamp set and you’re ready to roll!!
