Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I recently pulled out the Elements of Text stamp set – an Online Exclusive set – and have become a bit…obsessed? So it was on my radar for today’s card. To match our theme – I paired it with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle (in the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini) and some Wildly Flowering DSP (2024-2025 Annual Catalog). And – I also added some Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing (an online exclusive available 4 March!). Yeah – I was all over the place! Take a look-see:
And – guess our theme?!?
I got the layout idea from the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.
I started by embossing a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder (you WANT this, I promise – snatch it up on 4 March!!) and adhering it to the front of my Crumb Cake card base using Liquid Glue.
On a second piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (you want a finished size of 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ – so…start at about 4″ x 5 1/4″, okay?). I stamped a few images – from the Elements of Text set in Boho Blue ink. I used the round image, the more vertical text image and both splotches.
I tore all four edges to get down to my finished size of 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ – then used a Small Blending Brush to add Crumb Cake ink all around the edges to vintage-ize it a bit.
Then I adhered it to the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered a strip of Wildly Flowering DSP to the left side of the torn panel using Liquid Glue.
Using a Small Blending Brush, I added Crumb Cake ink to a piece of Wood Textured Specialty Paper – then I cut it out with the second-from-largest Stylish Shapes circle die and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
On another piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the Elements of Text images in Boho Blue ink.
Then I used the large wings die and the two small detailed butterfly dies from Beautiful Butterflies to cut them out from the stamped panel.
I used that Small Blending Brush to color all the die cut wings with Crumb Cake ink.
I cut out a large solid butterfly from a flower-dy Misty Moonlight piece of the Wildly Flowering DSP and then adhered the large wings to it.
Using the little body dies – I cut three (one large and two small) from Wildly Flowering DSP. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the bodies to their respective butterflies.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the large butterfly to the card front.
I stamped the Beautiful Butterflies sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the smaller label die from the Beautiful Butterflies die set. I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added the remaining small butterflies with Liquid Glue, added a bunch of champagne-colored Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped “For You” in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I added the Elements of Text images in Boho Blue and a small butterfly from Beautiful Butterflies in Misty Moonlight. Then I added a few more Sparkle Gems.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Boho Blue Elements of Text and a Misty Moonlight butterfly on the front…
…and more of the pretty Wildly Flowering DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I can’t BELIEVE it’s taken me so long to pull out the Elements of Text set – it’s SO my kind of stamp set. What was I thinking?!? And the Beautiful Butterflies bundle – with the pretty images and handy sentiments – plus perfect dies (and a Hybrid Embossing Folder that I didn’t even need for this card!) – is just wonderful! And if you’re already desperate to get your hands on that Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder – I totally get it. And I can totally help you do that RIGHT NOW! 😎
