Stampin’ Up! Hope You Know Snowy Forest Sympathy for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Our theme this week led me to the Falling Snow stamp set – it’s a big, beautiful background set – and some wintry Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I turned it into a Sympathy card using the Hope You Know stamp set – and placed it in a forest using Forever Forest die cut trees.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our challenge theme!

I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by inking the big Falling Snow background stamp with Boho Blue ink and then I stamped a perfectly wintery piece of Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Tip – to ink up these big stamps, I find it easier to lay the stamp – already on an acrylic block – on my work surface and then tap it all over with the ink pad.  Then stamp the DSP as usual.

I adhered the stamped panel to a Boho Blue mat for the card front.

Using the Forever Forest dies, I cut out five pine trees.  Three large – one in Misty Moonlight, one in Fresh Freesia and one in White Glimmer Paper (from the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Specialty Glimmer Paper pack).  I also cut two medium trees – one from Boho Blue and one from White Glimmer Paper.

I adhered the large Misty Moonlight and Fresh Freesia trees with Liquid Glue – then added the large White Glimmer tree with Dimensionals.  I used smaller pieces of Dimensionals – and a little Liquid Glue where it made sense – to adhere the two medium die cut trees.

I used some Stampin’ Seal to adhere a loose “bow” from Silver 1/8″ Trim.

On a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock, I stamped the Hope You Know sentiment in Boho Blue ink.  Then I cut it out with the banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the Silver Trim bow.

I added some Iridescent Faceted Gems and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped another Hope You Know sentiment in Boho Blue on a Basic White panel.  Across the bottom, I stamped the Forever Forest multi-tree image a couple times in stamped-off-once Fresh Freesia ink and again in stamped-off-once Misty Moonlight ink. I added another Iridescent Faceted Gem near the sentiment.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Forever Forest trees in stamped-off-once Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight on the front…

…and more of the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  We all know that, no matter how much we wish otherwise, there will be a time we need a sympathy card.  And having one like this ready to go – or at least ready to MAKE – is a really good plan!  I love the Hope You Know sentiments – so many ways to lend your support to a friend!  And the Forever Forest stamp set and coordinating dies – are some of my fave stamped images and die cut trees!  Falling Snow – a background set – is also pretty perfect for adding a little bit of “extra” to your winter projects! 🙂
