Good morning, y’all! Well – we had a GREAT time at our Decorative Trees Online Class yesterday! Lots of folks on who ended up with four Christmas cards and two gift tags from the Decorative Trees bundle and Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP! Amy and I had a lot of fun – and we’re pretty sure the attendees did, too – so we’re already looking for the next chance to do a similar class! Hope that you’ll want to join us! It was a fun way to spend a few hours!!
Once we were done, I hopped on YouTube and made a super fun treat box that started with the new Book Treat Boxes – from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog. I decorated it with Country Woods DSP and a sentiment and some die cuts from the Autumn Leaves stamp set and coordinating dies. And – there’s a pretty little Fall scene from the Online Exclusive Scenic Pumpkin Patch set taking centerstage. Take a look-see:
I started by using a Small Blending Brush to add Early Espresso ink all around the outer edges of the cover portion of the Book Treat Box. When you get them – there are two parts – the cover (with the tab) and the box portion. You want to color the cover and the tab. Note: try to NOT get any ink on the inside of the cover. 🙂
I set the cover aside to dry while I made the art.
I used the Autumn Leaves die to cut out a large Very Vanilla leaf. On it, using the images from the Scenic Pumpkin Patch set, I created my Fall scene.
– I stamped the large five-pumpkin image in Pumpkin Pie ink.
– I stamped the pumpkin tops image in Mossy Meadow ink.
– I stamped the little trees image a couple times in Pecan Pie ink.
– I stamped the tree tops in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry. Note: I also used Pumpkin Pie ink in the video sample! 🙂
Using Small Blending Brushes, I brushed on some Mossy Meadow on the bottom portion (ground) and Balmy Blue for the “sky”.
With the Early Espresso ink dry on the cover, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the 4″ x 7 1/4″ piece of Country Woods DSP to the cover. Note: the DSP is longer than you need in order to let it flex when you fold the cover. Be sure to align one short side with the NON-tab side of the cover.
Using Paper Snips, I trimmed off the excess DSP.
I assembled the second part of the box – it’s really easy and really sturdy. Then I used the provided adhesive strips to add the box piece to the inside of the cover.
I placed some Adhesive Sheet on the back of a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then cut out the large “vein” die from the Autumn Leaves die set. I used the sheet to adhere the vein to the front of the box.
Using the small square-ish label die in the set, I cut out a piece of Country Woods DSP. Using double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the die cut to the front of the box – spacing them to allow the tab to slide in to close the box. Yeah – check the video to see what THAT was all about! 🙂
I used the dies in the set to cut out two Cajun Craze and one Crushed Curry leaf, which I adhered to the project with Liquid Glue.
I used two lengths of Linen Thread to tie a simple bow and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I used double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Scenic Pumpkin Patch-decorated die cut leaf over the bow.
I stamped an Autumn Leaves sentiment in Cajun Craze on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock – and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I added some Adhesive-backed Metallic Dots and the box was done! Note: on the video sample, I added champagne-colored Drusy Adhesive-backed Dots instead and…I think I like those even better! 🙂
Et Voila! I KNOW! Such a fun gift box – or table favor! The Book Treat Boxes fit a gift card perfectly – with plenty of extra room for some yummy treats! Add your decoration – this one would be great at the Thanksgiving dinner table, decorated with the Country Woods DSP and the so-pretty Scenic Pumpkin Patch Online Exclusive stamp set (I LOVE this set!) and wunnermus leaves from the Autumn Leaves set. You need to getcha some! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a pretty gift box! Love the fall colors and leaves, perfect with the woodgrain background! Poor Finn…I’m sure that he’ll only get to bring one or two of his toys and he’ll be so bored. 😂
I know. He’s just going to have to sleep and sleep and sleep. So – not like a vacation at ALL! 🙁 Thanks, Amy !:)
