Stampin’ Up! Enjoying Little Things Sneak Peek Sunshine & Smiles Card

Happy Monday, y’all – it’s the LAST Monday in August, believe it or don’t.  I think I even detect it trying to be a little cooler.  Pretty soon – at the rate it’s going – I’ll be pulling out the Carhartts and griping about being cold.  Perhaps you’ve figured out that I have about a 2 degree “window” of okay-ness-with-the-temperature!  I’m anticipating seeing a little extra fuzz start to build up on Cady any day now!

My card today is ALL about sunshine and smiles!  Literally!  It’s from the new Enjoying Little Things stamp set.  What?  You missed it?  Well – take another look – it’s on page 61 in the new Sept-Dec 2024 Mini catalog and you only have NINE more days to wait before you can get it – and EVERYTHING! – in the new catalog!  Whoo-hoo!  In the meantime – take a look-see at this card!

Stampin' Up! Enjoying Little Things Sneak Peek Sunshine & Smiles Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

The layout for this card was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by adhering a piece of Blueberry Bushel paper from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock for the card front.

Next, I used the second-from-largest Deckled Rectangles die to cut out a piece of Daffodil Delight paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP pack.

Using my Paper Trimmer – I cut the panel into three roughly equal-size strips.  I cut the top strip at 1 1/2″ and the middle and bottom strips are 1 3/8″ wide.  It works! 😉

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the three panels to a Pretty in Pink cardstock mat and then to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

Using some Stampin’ Seal+, I adhered a loop-d-doop of white 1/4″ Diagonal Trim ribbon to the card front.

I used the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch (an Online Exclusive) to cut out a Basic White circle.

Starting with the bottom image – I stamped the Enjoying Little Things sunburst in Daffodil Delight (upside down) – then the sentiment in Pretty in Pink – then the sunburst again (this time right-side-up) – and finally the curved sentiment in Blueberry Bushel. Note: stamping the images/sentiment in that order worked the best to get the spacing right! 😎

I used the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a Pretty in Pink mat – to which I adhered the sentiment circle with Liquid Glue.

Then I adhered the matted sentiment over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Blueberry Bushel gems from the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack, and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the sunburst image from Enjoying Little Things three times in Daffodil Delight ink across the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Note: stamp the middle image first – lining up the middle of the image with the middle of the panel.  Then add the two on either side.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Blueberry Bushel card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Enjoying Little Things sunburst in Daffodil Delight on the front…

…and more of the Blueberry Bushel Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Enjoying Little Things is a sweet little stamp set – covering lots of fun occasions with sentiments and images – that work with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch!  And – don’t forget about the Color Family DSP packs – this season’s patterns are so fun and versatile!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn has been….moving?…dinner up by 10 minutes every evening.

He’s quite effective.

He starts by licking his empty bowl.

Then he really digs in – – making it clear that THE BOWL IS EMPTY!!

That thing REALLY clacks around – making a lot of noise.

His Dad is…a little bit of a…hmm.

Sucker.

Yeah.  That’s the word I was looking for. 🤦‍♀️

Such a fun card! Love the colors, perfect with that sentiment! Poor Finn…he’s just starving, can’t you see that? Perhaps, if he moves his evening meal a little earlier, he can call it lunch and then get a third meal?? 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Hmmm – I can surely see the logic there! Hopefully he’s not thinking that’s in the works! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Amy Oneill

  3. Perfect combination of DSP’s and layout, Mary. A happy card. And Finn, you are so adorable!

Thank you so much, Kylie. And yes, I think he’s pretty handsome! 🙂
