Stampin’ Up! Golden Greenery Love & Joy Book Fold Christmas Card with Video Tutorial

Happy half-way-thru-the-weekend, y’all!  Hope it’s going well for you!

I have a Christmas card for you today – why fight it?! – that also happens to be one of my fave fun folds – the ever-popular-and-oh-so-easy book fold card! I’ve dressed it up with some Online Exclusives – the Golden Greenery and Greetings of the Season bundle and some beautiful Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The front layout was inspired by the Tuesday Morning sketch challenge.

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 10″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that, using my Paper Trimmer, I scored on the long side at 5 1/2″ and again at 6 3/4″.

I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction.  Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!Stampin' Up! Golden Greenery Love & Joy Book Fold Card with Video Tutorial - Stamps-N-Lingers

Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.

And from there – it’s all decorating!  Easy and also peasy!

I matted a narrow strip of the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP on a Gold Foil strip and adhered it to the book-fold panel (that’s the narrow front panel) with Stampin’ Seal+.

I used the pine bough dies in the Golden Greenery set to cut out several Mossy Meadow pine boughs.  How many?  Oh – a few.  Cut as many as you need!

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the die cut pine boughs to the front panel – with a couple of them sort of hanging off the right edge and off the top and bottom edges.

I trimmed the excess from the top and bottom – but left the “overhang” on the right edge – to work with the sketch.

I matted a piece of plaid Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP on Gold Foil and adhered it to the card front – letting it extend past the right edge.

I used the dies in the Golden Greenery set to cut out two leaf images and a pine bough image from the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP.  I also cut a couple more detailed pine boughs – this time from Gold Foil.

I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Greetings of the Season sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with gold Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When the melted embossing powder had cooled, I cut it out with an oval die from the bundled Greetings of the Season die set.  I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a scrunched up Glue Dot.

Finally, I added some new Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-backed Berries and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a strip of Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP to the right edge of the inside of the card.  On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Greetings of the Season sentiment in Cherry Cobbler and then added the Golden Greenery pine bough in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow over top.

I used Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Golden Greenery pine bough in full-strength Mossy Meadow on the front…

…and more of the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Gold!  YES!  One of my fave color combos – and with the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP – it really hollers THIS IS A CHRISTMAS CARD, don’t you think?!  This beautiful paper – when paired with the Golden Greenery and Greetings of the Season bundles are some of our prettiest Online Exclusives – and for sure some of my faves!

Thirteen states – and Puerto Rico! – will have Back-to-School Sales Tax Holidays this year and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states! BOOM!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.  So, if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the spreadsheet below and mark your calendar!

Here’s the list of states having sales tax holidays, what the dates are and what SU! supplies will qualify for tax free purchases (HINT:  Stampin’ Dimensionals qualify in ALL the states! Just sayin’!) during the holiday (click on the image to download a full-size printable page):

Please note:  You have to place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (so – that’s from MIDNIGHT on the first day to MIDNIGHT on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday and the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin, those states will NOT have the sales tax holiday this year.
