Hey y’all – happy Tuesday. Are you in the middle of a heat wave? I mean – I’m thinking way more than half the country IS so…the odds are good. Or bad – depending on how you look at it! If you are – stay safe, stay cool. Bring your pets inside – remember they can’t sweat! 😳
Unless your pet is a horse. Horses CAN sweat. And…they might not be SO good in the house…. 🤷♀️
My card today has not even one thing to do with the heat. Or…sweat! It’s a Sneak Peek of the Frosted Forest stamp set and masks – new Online Exclusives coming on 3 July to customers! Plus my fave – Country Woods DSP, which you can get right NOW from the Annual Catalog. Take a look-see:
I know! That IS a blue and purple tree! 🙂
The layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at MFT Challenges.
And I grabbed some elements for this card from the Festive Friday Inspo List. I used Blue, Purple, Clean and Simple, and Thinking of You sentiment!
I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram. You can see it on YouTube right here!
I started by embossing an Early Espresso cardstock panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and adhering it to the front of an Early Espresso card base using Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Country Woods DSP, I used three of the masks in the new Frosted Forest Mask Set (available 3 July) to create my tree. There are six masks in the set – three of them build to make this pretty tree and the OTHER three build to make two different-sized pine trees!!
I secured my Country Woods DSP panel to my work surface with Sticky Notes and then, starting with Mask 1 – the trunk – I used a Small Blending Brush to make an Early Espresso tree trunk.
Switching to Mask 2 – I added Misty Moonlight and then, with Mask 3 – I used Blackberry Bliss to finish off the tree.
Then I matted the panel on Wild Wheat for the card front and adhered it to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.
I placed the next-to-largest Deckled Rectangle on a piece of dark Country Woods DSP and then placed the THIRD-from-largest die inside that. I secured them with sticky notes and ran it all thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine – thus creating the frame, all in one cut! 🙂
I adhered the frame in place on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tied a simple bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Country Woods DSP, I stamped the Frosted Forest sentiment (available 3 July 2024) in Blackberry Bliss ink. I cut it out with a Stylish Shapes label die and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added three Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Frosted Forest sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on a Basic White panel. Next to it, I added the little bird image from the set in Misty Moonlight ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Wild Wheat mat and then into the Early Espresso card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Frosted Forest bird in Misty Moonlight on the front…
…and more Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my goodness! Stampin’ UP! is knocking it OUT OF THE PARK with Masks these days – this Frosted Forest Mask set is a wonderful example!! I love it – and can’t wait to see what color combos I can use to make beautiful trees! And I will NOT forget how cool it looks on the Country Woods DSP – one of my forever-faves! Add the Frosted Forest stamp set for some pretty sentiments (I didn’t even use the wunnermus tree images in the set) and you’ll be good to go!
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card Mary! Love the colors and the layering is perfect! Maybe Finn is just dreaming of winter days… 🙂 I know that I will be when it hits 95 degrees and the humidity fires up later today!!
Yeah – gonna be a long summer, for sure! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Interesting card and the masks something else. Your weather is hot we had minus 3 deg this morning and has struggled to get into double figures.
Oh yikes – well, “enjoy” winter downunder and stay warm!!! Thanks so much!
Mary, such a great layout and I love the colors you chose. The frames really allow the eye to focus on your tree. Such a great sentiment, too. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week
