Stampin’ Up! Lacy Seaside Wishes Sneak Peek Made My Day with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Easter! He is Risen!! 🙂

I know you’re going to be busy today – we are, too – so…I’ll get right to it!  I have a super pretty thank you card for you today with a sneaky look at TWO of my favorite new things – the Seaside Wishes bundle and the gorgeous Country Lace DSP!  You’ll be able to get these in the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on 1 May!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the Global Design Project sketch this week.

I started by adhering a piece of Petal Pink Country Lace DSP to the front of my Petal Pink card base using Liquid Glue.  Y’all – this paper is going to be one of your faves – I promise!!  Put it on your list RIGHT THIS SECOND!

Next, I used a Water Painter to add new Basic Beige color (get this in the new Annual Catalog on 1 May!) to a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  I tapped the ink pad on an Acrylic Block and then picked up the ink with the Water Painter and added it to the paper.  I tried to keep the strokes visible – and horizontal (like…watery).

When I had as much color as I wanted, I dried the panel with my Heat Tool.  Then I embossed it in the new Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder.

I stamped some of the dots image from the Seaside Wishes set randomly on the panel in Basic Beige ink. Then I stamped some little starfish (or sea stars!) in Soft Sea Foam.

I tore all four edges – ending up with about a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ panel.  I did some wrinkling and crumbling and tearing of the panel and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I colored another piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the Water Painter and Petal Pink ink.  When it was dry, I embossed it in the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Then I used the die in the set to cut out the three sand dollars.

I die cut some sea grass – a few from Soft Sea Foam cardstock, and some from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, colored with Soft Sea Foam ink and a Water Painter.

And – I used the two detailed sand dollar dies to cut out two from Basic Beige cardstock.

Then it was time to build my collage!

I adhered the top sand dollar (the medium sized one) with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The middle – largest – is adhered with double-stacked Dimensionals – placed near the middle of the die cut.  The smallest is adhered with a dimensional.

I added the two Basic Beige detailed die cut sand dollars with Liquid Glue – then slid some sea grasses in here and there, securing them with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from two pieces of Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, I stamped the Seaside Wishes sentiment in Petal Pink ink.  I added the splatters over it in Basic Beige.  Then I tore the long edges – and cut angled ends with Paper Snips.

I adhered the sentiment over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Note: depending on how big the knot is on your bow, you MAY need to use double-stacked Dimensionals – that was the case for mine on the video! Do whatcha need to do to make it look right, okay?! 🙂

I added five Flat Adhesive-backed Pearls and the card front was done!

On the inside, I first stamped the back panel all over in Petal Pink ink using the Seaside Wishes splatters image.  Then, on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a second sentiment in Petal Pink and the small starfish in Soft Sea Foam.  I added some more Basic Beige splatters and a Flat Adhesive-backed Pearl!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the starfish and splatters on the front…

…and more of the Country Lace DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh.  My.  Gosh.  This Seaside Wishes bundle is simply….stupendous!  Wonderful undersea images – perfectly embossed die cuts – and some of the nicest sentiments (in beautiful fonts!) that you could ever hope for!  It’s a clear-fire winner!  And the Country Lace DSP.…wow wow WOW!  I am just…ASSUMING that these are BOTH at the top of your GET IT FIRST THING list for 1 May (or…2 April if you’re a demonstrator!!).

Finn Fan Fix

A sad sight, indeed.

When the heart is willing but…the tongue is just a LITTTTTLE too short…

A good smoothie glass is a terrible thing to waste….

Such a pretty card! Love the colors and those die cuts are amazing!! Poor Finn…just a little too far to reach the bottom of the glass. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

I know – he NEEDS a longer tongue!! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Karen Finkle

Seriously, Stampin’ Up! needs to hire you to create cards for their catalogs! Need I say more? Happy Easter, my friend.

    • stampsnlingers

Aww – that’s sweet, Karen – thank you so much! Happy Happy Easter! 🙂

  3. Susan K

Happy Easter, Mare! What a beautiful card! Your mind just works at a much higher level than mine, so thanks for sharing your talent and ideas! Thanks too for showing the stamp set and dies for the new products as you use them. That’s helpful! (Whoever put the smoothie in that tall glass needs to find a shorter, wider glass for their next one!)

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – you’re very kind, Susan – thank you! Happy Easter to you, too. And yes – new drinkware should be on our radar, shouldn’t it?!

  4. Kate

He is risen indeed. Blessed Easter to all.

  5. Beth

Pretty card Mary with the soft colors for seashells.
Finally, I see a use for Petal Pink. Soft brownish pink shells!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes! I actually love Petal Pink – but…it’s definitley not a TRUE pink – look to the new Pretty in Pink In Color for that! Thanks, Beth! 🙂

  6. WOW! Stunning collage. I love them and love to make them, but mine fall short of fantastic. Great colors, though on video that beige looks green to me.
I have some shorter, wider glasses if you need me to send one so Finn can get to the bottom of the glass. That is just abuse, to put a smoothie in a too-tall-for-the-tongue glass.
Company yesterday, so just now looking at the card, though I watched you ‘live’.

    • stampsnlingers

I know – he’s a poor poor pitiful puppy! Not enough tongue!! And – the beige has some green tint to it, that it true! :). Thanks, Julie!

  7. Love this card Mary. The soft colours are perfect.
