Stampin’ Up! Woodsy Thoughtful Wishes Sneak Peek Book Fold Thank You

Good morning, y’all!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a nice Easter!  We had a great day with Jan and the family – ALL the kids were there with their respective tiny humans! It was really fun to have them all there. 🙂

My card today is ALSO fun!  A fun FOLD, that is!  It’s one of my faves – a book fold card – but…I turned it to be a horizontal book fold.  Just a little twist.  It’s also a Sneaky Peek at the new Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and bundled dies, the Unbounded Love dies AND the amazeballs Country Woods DSP.  They’re ALL going to be available to you on 1 May in the new catalog!  Take a look-see:

The layout for the front was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock that, using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored on the long side at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″.

I folded the 4 1/4″ score line as a “mountain” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 5 1/2″ score in the opposite direction.  Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!

Using Liquid Glue between the 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″ score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” fold.

I matted a piece of the new – and awesome! – Country Woods DSP…

…on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock.  I wrapped a length of new Petal Pink 1/4″ Diagonal Trim around the narrow, matted panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I tied a short length of the ribbon around it – creating a “faux bow”.

I adhered the panel to the narrow book fold panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I matted another – larger – piece of the Country Woods DSP on Petal Pink cardstock, using Liquid Glue.

I cut out a Petal Pink foliage die cut with one of the big dies in the new Thoughtful Wishes die set.

I adhered the die cut to the matted panel with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped two sentiments from Thoughtful Wishes in Pecan Pie ink – one above the other.  Using my Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker, I added a comma after “Thanks”.

I cut out the sentiment with one of the pretty oval dies in the Unbounded Love die set – also coming on 1 May!

…and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three Petal Pink Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins (THESE guys are RETIRING really soon – and will be 40% OFF when the sale starts on 9 April!!) and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Thoughtful Wishes in Pecan Pie on a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top, I stamped the pretty little line of flowers from the set in stamped-off-once Petal Pink.  I added a single Petal Pink Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequin.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into the Pecan Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope (these are ALSO retiring SOON – you NEED to stock up, y’all – TRUST ME ON THIS!) got the little line of Thoughtful Wishes flowers in full strength Petal Pink ink on the front…

…and more of the Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this….sideways!…book fold, don’t you?  It gives a wider “palette” to decorate – which is great for big, bold die cuts like this one from the new Thoughtful Wishes die set.  I love the images – and the sentiments! – in the bundled stamp set, too!  Unbounded Love Die Set – just get ready for that to be a real work-horse for you – so many great label dies!  And – Country Woods DSP.  ‘Nuff said!
