Stampin’ Up! Airy Layering Leaves Easel Card Fun Fold for Creative Creases #76 with Video

Good morning and happy Friday!  It’s time for another Creative Creases challenge so…it’s fun fold day!  Which is…FUN…going into a three-day weekend, right??! 😎

Today’s is a super easy fun fold – a basic easel card – and it’s sporting some gorgeous papers from the Flight & Airy DSP!  I added a sentiment and some pretty boughs from the Layering Leaves stamp set and leaves from the coordinating Bough Punch, too!  Take a look-see:

I also used the sketch challenge from the Sunday Stamps challenge to inspire the card front!

I started with the basic Easel Card – a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.  I folded the 5 1/2″ score line as a valley (“regular”) and the 8 1/4″ fold in the opposite direction (a mountain fold).  That’s all it takes to make an easel! 🙂

I matted two pieces of Pecan Pie paper from the Flight & Airy DSP (FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration) to Flirty Flamingo mats.  Then I adhered the two matted panels to the two small easel panels using Liquid Glue.

I did the inside next – I stamped a Layering Leaves sentiment in Garden Green on a Basic White panel.  Over the top, I stamped the little splatters image from the set twice in Soft Sea Foam.  I added the splatters at the bottom, too, in anticipation of the easel stop.

Then I matted the panel on Flirty Flamingo and into the card base using Liquid Glue.

Back to the front – I cut out three Flight & Airy DSP circles using the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set.

I dry-fit the circles onto the closed card front and then used Liquid Glue to adhere the three circles together (to create a single element).

Using Liquid Glue on the front easel panel – I adhered the three-circle-element to that panel.  Note – be sure to NOT get the adhesive on the other easel panel.

I used a Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend to color some leaf-strewn Vellum Basics Specialty DSP.  When it was dry, I used the Bough Punch to cut out two of the large leaves.  I adhered them to the card front using Liquid Glue.

I tied a simple bow from two pieces of Flirty Flamingo twine from the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a Layering Leaves sentiment in Garden Green and cut it out with the Stylish Shapes banner die.  I adhered it over the top of the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Adhesive-backed Dragonflies and the card front was done.

To make the easel stop – I stamped the leaves image from Layering Leaves in Garden Green on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  I stamped the fill image in Soft Sea Foam.

I punched it out with the Bough Punch – and also cut out two more from plain Basic White cardstock.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the three leaves in a stack.

Using little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the easel stop in place on the inside of the card.  Note: I oriented the leaf so that the three-leaf side was up and would make contact with the easel – making it stronger as an easel stop! 😎

I added one more little dragonfly and…the card was done!

I did make a second version – using a different design from the Flight & Airy DSP for one of the circles (it’s pink instead of blue!)….which one do you like better??

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Layering Leaves leaf and splatters on the front…

…and more of the Flight & Airy DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love this Flight & Airy DSP – it’s so stinkin’ pretty and…FREE!  It’s like a double-whammy of GOOD!  And – Layering Leaves is one of my favorite stamp sets of…ever!  It’s on my VERY short list of stamp sets that will ALWAYS have a home on my shelf!  And – the Bough Punch will likely be right next to it! 🤙
