Stampin’ Up! Ice Cream Swirl Sneak Peek Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a Theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

So – the theme tried to lead me to a New Year’s card but…I got the bit in my teeth and went my own way!  Yep – I made a celebrate-a-birthday card!  I pulled out the new Ice Cream Swirl bundle – so cute! – and added some of that pretty (and free-during-Sale-A-Bration!) Sunny Days DSP.  Take a look-see:

I started with some summery strawberry paper – and some Petal Pink plaid paper – both from the Sunny Days DSP – and I matted them both on Shaded Spruce cardstock.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the smaller panel to the card front.

Y’all – you’re going to be able to get this uber-fun pack of Sunny Days 12″ x 12″ DSP for FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase 4 Jan- 29 Feb during 2024 Sale-A-Bration.  Whoo-hoo!

I created the sentiment using the Wanted to Say dies – cutting the shadow from Shaded Spruce and the detailed sentiment from Petal Pink cardstock.  Then I adhered the two together with Liquid Glue and set it aside.

Then I start making ice cream with the new Ice Cream Swirl Bundle – available from the Jan – Apr 2024 Mini Catalog!

Stampin' Up! Ice Cream Swirl Sneak Peek Birthday for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop - Stamps-N-Lingers

Here’s the scoop. 😎

– I stamped “Make a Wish” from the Ice Cream Swirl set in Crumb Cake ink on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Then I cut it out with the cone die from Ice Cream Swirl.  I ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine again, with the cone-texture die in place to add the “waffle”.

– I used a Blending Brush to add some Crumb Cake ink to the cone to give it a little dimension.

– I die cut the ice cream from Basic White cardstock and the swirl from Poppy Parade.  Then I adhered the swirl to the ice cream with Liquid Glue.

– On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the straw, cherry and strawberry in Smoky Slate ink and used the dies in the set to cut them all out.

– I colored the strawberry with my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and the Light Granny Apple Green Blend.

– I colored the cherry with the Daffodil Delight Blends and the Light Crumb Cake Blend (stem).

– I colored the straw with the Dark Petal Pink, and both Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

– I used the die in the Ice Cream Swirl set to cut out Daffodil Delight cardstock “sprinkles”.

I adhered the cone to the card front with Liquid Glue, then popped the swirled ice cream in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I placed the straw with Liquid Glue – and a dimensional under the top to support it.

With the straw situated, I adhered the cherry and the strawberry with Liquid Glue.

Before I sprinkled the cone, I adhered the matted sentiment with Liquid Glue.  I used a small strip of Dimensional under the “C” to give it a little support.

All good ice cream cones have sprinkles and this one is no exception.  I added mine with little dots of Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped an Ice Cream Swirl sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a Basic White panel.  I stamped some Daffodil Delight sprinkles next to the sentiment.  Across the bottom I added three strawberries in Smoky Slate and colored them with Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Shaded Spruce mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a single strawberry on the front…

…and more of the Sunny Days DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How “SWEET” is this Ice Cream Swirl stamp set and its fun dies?!?  All the ice cream flavors under the sun are at your fingertips – and…not a calorie in a card-load!  I love it!  And the Sunny Days DSP is one of my faves – and not JUST cuz it’s going to be FREE!! 😎
