Stampin’ Up! Painted Postage Sneak Peek Thank You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Well – I did it again – I pulled out the new Painted Lavender and Perennial Postage bundles again.  They’re so pretty that it’s hard to leave them on the shelf!  Some Perennial Lavender DSP and a little die cut foliage later and….take a look-see!

And – here’s our sketch!

I started by cutting two strips of Perennial Lavender DSP – one that is covered in blooms and a narrow strip in a more solid-y Pretty Peacock.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the larger strip to the narrow strip – leaving about 1/4″ of the Pretty Peacock DSP visible.

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the glued strip to an Orchid Oasis mat – and then onto a third piece of Perennial Lavender DSP at an angle.

Using my Paper Trimmer, I cut off the excess DSP and then used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis mat for the card front.

Using the Stampin’ Brayer (available in the new catalog on 4 Jan), I colored some Vellum cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink – and then set it aside to dry.

In the meantime, I used the Painted Lavender bundle to:

– Cut two Orchid Oasis stems.

– Cut two Lost Lagoon stems.

– Stamp the small flowers image four times – twice in Fresh Freesia and twice in Highland Heather – on Basic White and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

– I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Fresh Freesia flowers to the two Lost Lagoon stems.

– I used pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the Highland Heather flowers to the two Lost Lagoon stems.

– When the Vellum was dry, I used the smaller foliage die to cut out three stems.

I used the third-from-smallest Perennial Postage die to cut out a piece of the Pretty Peacock Perennial Lavender DSP, which I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue as a first mat for the sentiment.

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stems to the card front – on top of the die cut “mat”.

I wound some Linen Thread around my hand and twisted it into a Figure-8, which I adhered to the mat with a couple of Glue Dots.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Perennial Postage sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink.  Then I cut it out with the next smaller Perennial Postage die.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to an Orchid Oasis mat and then popped the whole thing over the thread and foliage with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds to the foliage – and a few gems from the Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems (coming soon!) to the sentiment.

And the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped another Perennial Postage sentiment in Orchid Oasis on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  In the corner, I stamped a Painted Lavender plant in Fresh Freesia and the grasses in Lost Lagoon.  I added the small butterflies – also from Painted Lavender – in Highland Heather ink.  Then I added a couple three Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Painted Lavender images on the front…

…and more of the Perennial Lavender DSP on the envelope flap.
