Good morning and happy Friday-before Christmas!
I’d had a request for a gift card holder idea for last minute Christmas gifts so…I SORT of did that for you today. I DID make a gift card holder – actually a few of them – and a couple of them are decked out for Christmas. But the main one I want to share is perfect as a wedding or anniversary gift – it’s got a little Sneak Peek of the new Lifetime of Love bundle and Forever Love Specialty DSP – both coming soon in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog! Now – all these gift card holders are made from a 4 1/4″ x 9″ piece of Designer Series Paper – in this case, Forever Love Specialty DSP.
I used the Simply Scored Score Tool to score along the long side at 1 5/8″, 4 3/8″, 5 5/8″ and 7″.
I folded all but the 5 5/8″ score line as “valley” folds – with the side of the DSP that I wanted to see on the outside of the folds.
Then I folded the 5 5/8″ score as a “mountain”.
I burnished that score line and then used the larger scalloped oval in the Double Oval Punch to punch out a finger-hole.
Using Paper Snips – I cut the DSP paper in half right on that 5 5/8″ score line.
I used Tear And Tape Adhesive to adhere the middle panels together – to create the pop-up. Confused? Check out the video! 🙂
I stamped a Lifetime of Love sentiment in Moody Mauve on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. In the corner, I stamped the leaves image from the set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with my Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends.
I adhered the panel to a Pretty Peacock mat and then to the larger inside panel of the gift card holder using Liquid Glue.
I put a card into the slot – this will help you get the belly band to the right thickness! – and closed the holder.
I wrapped a 1 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Petal Pink around the gift card holder and used Tear and Tape Adhesive to secure the ends of the band together at the front of the holder (where it’ll be hidden by the sentiment/decoration).
I used the corner punch in the Very Best Trio Punch to cut all four corners of a 3″ square piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.
In the center, I stamped the Lifetime of Love sentiment in Moody Mauve ink.
I cut two of the pretty wreath die cuts from the Lifetime of Love die set from Distressed Gold Paper and adhered them to the Very Vanilla square with Liquid Glue. I made sure to offset the leaves to make a full wreath.
I cut out two small leaf die cuts from Lost Lagoon cardstock and adhered them to the Distressed Gold Wreath.
On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Lifetime of Love floral swag in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut it out with the coordinating die in the Lifetime of Love die set.
Then I colored it with my Lost Lagoon (leaves), Petal Pink and Moody Mauve (flowers) Stampin’ Blends.
I adhered the floral die cut to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then used more Dimensionals to adhere it to the middle of the belly band.
I added a Pretty Peacock gem from the Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems (new in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog) and the card holder was done!
Et Voila! This is such an easy fold and it’s especially good for all our beautiful two-sided Designer Series Papers. This new Forever Love Specialty DSP is just gorgeous – and goes so perfectly with the Lifetime of Love bundle. Just right for weddings or anniversaries!

Now – I mentioned that I did a Christmas version and…here ’tis!
It uses the A Walk in the Forest DSP and the Joy of Noel and Christmas Classics bundles. These are still available in the Last Chance Sale!
Creating the Gift Card Holder is identical to the first version.
Here’s how to decorate them!
– For the inside, use the sentiments from Christmas Classics to stamp in Cherry Cobbler on Basic White. Add “Merry” in either Garden Green (on the left) or Balmy Blue.
– Mat the panel on Pretty Peacock and then adhered it inside the gift card holder.
– Use Cherry Cobbler for the belly band.
– Cut the Joy of Noel “NOEL” from Distressed Gold paper and adhere the letter to a Pretty Peacock square die cut using the Christmas Classics die.
– Use the pine bough die from Joy of Noel to cut a Distressed Gold and a Garden Green pine bough and adhere them to the belly band with Liquid Glue.
– Use two lengths of Linen Thread to tie a large loose bow and adhere it with a Glue Dot.
– Adhere the sentiment over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
– Add three gold Festive Pearls.
And that’s it!
I also made a third version using the Joy of Giving stamp set and some Beary Christmas DSP. Like the products above – these are retiring and still available in the Last Chance sale!

I loved watching you make these beautiful gift card holders. I especially like the wedding one. I can’t wait to make one. I agree it’s easier to cut before adhering. Oh my gosh, Finn is so cute with his gift from Auntie K…look at that tongue action and the snozzle sniffer! I found out that the biscuits I sent were okay to not be frozen or cold for just a little while but then needed refrigeration as there were no preservatives and they can go moldy. Too bad I didn’t know that at the time! I hope you, Wayne, family and friends have a blessed Christmas.
