Stampin’ Up! Masculine Feathered Flight Front Flap Easel for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

A few weeks ago, I purchased a new Online Exclusive product called Feathered Flight.  I hadn’t even mounted it yet – but…decided it would be a GREAT one to play with for our challenge today!  When I paired it with some Let’s Go Fishing DSP, from the Annual Catalog, and made a front flap easel card with it – I was rewarded with a super cool Masculine fun fold.  Take a look-see:

I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere 1″ x 3 7/8″ pieces of Let’s Go Fishing DSP to each end of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.

I adhered the mat – with it’s DSP strips – to the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Crumb Cake card base with Liquid Glue.

I made the small easel card by scoring a 3″ x 7 3/4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock at 3 7/8″ and 5 3/4″.  I folded the 3 7/8″ score line as a valley and the 5 3/4″ score line as a mountain (classic easel folding, right there!).

Using Liquid Glue on the back, I adhered the easel card to the card base – centering it between the two DSP strips.

I matted two pieces of Let’s Go Fishing DSP on Mossy Meadow and adhered them to the two small panels on the front of the easel.

I stamped the duck images from Feathered Flight in Early Espresso on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with the 4th-from-smallest Deckled Circles die.  I matted it on a Boho Blue Stylish Shapes circle and a Mossy Meadow Deckled Circles die cut.

Using Liquid Glue on the bottom half of the circle, I adhered the art work to the front panel of the small easel card.

I stamped a Feathered Flight sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a strip of Crumb Cake, snipped a banner in the right end and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the art circle.

I tied a simple bow from two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue and that was it for the front of the easel.

On a 2 3/4″ x 3 5/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the second Feathered Flight sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  I adhered the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and then to the inside of the small easel card.

To make the easel stop, I stamped the Feathered Flight water image on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in Boho Blue ink.  Using the bullet end of the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker, I added color to the grasses of the image.  I did the same to the rocks, using a Pebbled Path Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I cut the image with the smallest Deckled Rectangle die and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Adhesive-backed Dragonflies and the front of the card was done!

For the back – in case you want to write a longer message! – I stamped the Feathered Flight ducks again in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

I matted it on Mossy Meadow and then adhered it to the back of the card base using Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Feathered Flight ducks in Early Espresso on the front…

…and more Let’s Go Fishing DSP (love that plaid!) on the envelope flap.
